Hey I was just messing around and this search pulled up a lot of AR video that I hadn't seen. Some interesting stuff for those who can't get enough info on the kid. I hope this link works:

OVERRATED!

J/K, well, not really but I can't wait to see Anthony Randolph in action. I've NEVER in my life read so much hype about a player who's had a very mediocre career so far.

Me too - there is an awful lot of hype about a guy who hasnt done much. I guess its based on potential so we will see if he can live up to it. Curry never did.

For myself, what got me hyped up about AR (I admit it) is the fact that this kid has a handle that most guys his size don't have.
That's what really makes him special IMO. He is also known from what I've read to jack up his share of jumpers which is why I want to
see D'Antoni push him to use his handle to take it to the rim frequently and within the offense of course.

You Guys have to remember that this is a KID! He hasn't even had a chance to mature yet and still you see the spectacular things he can do. He's a late bloomer too, since he really hasn't been doing it that long. He said he started in 10th grade, so you know that he something special to have shown so much promise already. I can't think of too many guys his size that can do what he does. Odom, Durant and KG are the most amazing bigs skill wise right now and AR just might join that group one day soon. So yeah there's hype but it's not based on nothing. You have to be somewhat of a scout and see the potential rather than go just by accomplishments so far.

I'm sorry dude but this is a really dumb post and its getting old.

Mediocre career? He was 19 is rookie year and 20 last year. What career would you be referring too? He showed very good things last year before he got hurt, and most importantly he showed he could put on weight and get stronger.

I'm sorry.. not every one is Lebron James or Amare Stoudemire at 19 years old.

He's a young player who has shown he can do incredible things IN THE NBA. Like most VERY YOUNG players he needs to develop and do it on a night to night basis.

If you watched his "career" you would easily see his ceiling is extremely high. Does it mean he will be a yearly all star? Does it mean he will make a few all star games here and there like Carmello? Does it mean he just becomes a really solid role player? Who knows but the skill set, physical tools and talent are there to work with.

If your looking for young players with size, length, skill, above the rim athleticism and real upside you cant do much better than Anthony Randolph who will be 21 starting his 3rd year in the NBA.

He and Gallo both have 100 NBA games under their belts

Coming from someone who thought David Lee was a Star, I can't take your scouting report on Anthony Randolph too seriously.

And besides April in his Rookie season, Randolph has done nothing in this league. He couldn't even start on terrible Golden State team with no PF.

he's got a lot of growing up to do. Attitude is the scary part about AR for sure. You wonder how much of that has to do with playing for that disfunctional franchise. Hopefully he fits in well here and is a good trooper.

Lee is an all star, thats a fact.
I never ever once said David Lee was a "star", only a very good player. so you have any other thoughts?

Also you have no idea what your talking about. Randolph started the year on the bench and then earned the starting PF spot before he got hurt. So he was in fact the starter.

Anything else you want to add?

AR's ability to get his hand on the ball from any angle and any direction is really incredible.
We haven't had anyone blocking shots like that in a long time. I agree that he should be untouchable at this point, unless we're getting back Dwight Howard.

The guy is at a crossroads. This is his third year in the league. He needs to be developed in the mold of Kevin Garnett not Jared Jefferies.

i'm changing my mind on the melo deal. previously i wanted ar or gallo plus curry plus a #1 for melo now. now i'll hold off. it's a gamble either way but i'm preferring to gamble with developing the cadre we currently have and then check melo's status a year from now.

he sees the light

AR and Gallo have both played a 100 NBA games. I expect improvement from them but at 21 years old this isnt the year when you see what you have, but we should get a good idea. Different players improve at different rates. Most would thinkg Chandler didnt make big strides but his FG% went up 50 points and he went from a career 43% to shooting over 50% for the 2nd half of the season. He's also had a lot of nagging injuries, so sometimes you just have to be patient.

Tell you one thing... Felton and Amare will help their development. Amare didnt come here to play with guys who loaf. He brings it every night and wants to win. People laughed at 19 when he was drafted and he said he wanted to be in the HOF. Now you see his dedication. Chandler, AR, Gallo, Douglas, Fields, Mosgov... all our young players will take notice and (hopefully) take something from what he brings.

i agree w/u but i have a feeling MDA is going to want to use AR in the fishlips role of guarding smaller players on the perimeter & leaving him with dirtywork duty... i hope i'm wrong, i'd like to see AR show off some offensive skills, cuz he does have them.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

- Randolph's and Gallo's natural position seems to be PF. So I dont see how Amare(PF) will help their development by taking minutes away.

- I dont understand the excuse of Gallo and Randolph playing only a combined 100 games. They were both injured for dam near a full season which is a big red flag.

- Felton(PG), Amare(PF), and Melo(SF) > Felton(PG), Amare(PF), Randolph(PF), and Gallo(PF)

If MDA does that then Randolph is ruined. Guys like David Lee are the exception not the rule. Most guys arent going to go from being a brick mason to consistent shooter. I shudder at Randolph pulling up for jumpers off the dribble.
