From Alex Kennedy's twitter account 9/7/2010:

"Kelenna Azubuike's camp believes that he'll be ready to start the season. He'll likely miss camp but he should be fine for opening night."

That's the latest update I could find. Still some good news..Man this guy is so key. He's the best SG we have on this roster - better than Chandler, Mason, Rautins or anyone else. If we can get him on the court and he's close to being what he was, we're in EXCELLENT shape. I've seen this dude play many times before he went down with the knee injury and he's 100% NBA starting 2-guard caliber..

I wonder if GS even makes the Lee trade if this guy was completely healthy..I think GS hedged their bets on this guy's future when they made that deal -- I bet they feel he's either done or he'll never get back to the same level. Man would I love for this kid to come back strong and prove to GS that they made a mistake..VERY GOOD trade even if Azu doesn't make it back, PHENOMENAL trade if he does.

If anyone has any other Azubuike info. post it here.

You think he is going to come back 100% at the start of the season? If you arent healthy enough to play in the pre-season then you are a ways away from being able to contribute.

100%? No I don't. Though I remain hopeful and I'm encouraged by this Alex Kennedy tweet from a week ago. 100% and "ready for the start of the season" are two different things...I'll take Azubuike at 85-90%. This guy was really starting to come into his own with the Warriors --- 6'5", 220 lb., strong, athletic, slasher/finisher, 40% 3-pt. stroke, good defender, still young. Dude's a flat out difference maker for us if he's well enough to go.

You just posted Chad Ford's off-season grade for the Knicks on another thread.. Funny how he didn't even include Azubuike as a key addition. No doubt because of the injury -- Ford appears to be hedging his bet on Azu's health as well..Understandable...To me, if he's healthy enough to have an impact, this guy's as important an addition as any of the other players we added. We're in tremendous shape if he can make it back.

I wouldn't rely on Azubuike to much. Coming back from Knee surgery he will take a while before he can be effective for the Knicks. Probably spends a lot of time on the IR all season.

He'll be very rusty to start. I'm glad we still have the mayor.

The knee is very, very important to a shooter (just ask Houston). If he can't get the proper lift he'll be the next Q-Brick.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

oh, really? So you want a skinny Q who still can't shoot....that's funny as hell
