After a quite start to their offseason I think the Nets have done a nice job. Murphy, Lopez, Favors, and Smith is a pretty impressive front line. I think they will be better than expected.

Nets building a contender! Reminds me of the Knicks not so long ago.

I thought about it some more and maybe the Nets are doing the right thing. They have a couple of years until the move to the new stadium, maybe the plan is to collect some high draft picks and try to make another play at the free agent market in 2012 with a mix of youth and experience. Actually that might work.

People sleep on the Nets but if you get healthy Lopez, Murphy and Harris along with improvements from Lee and Terrence Williams, they could really make some noise. Morrow and Outlaw are all solid, if overpaid, NBA players. The Nets will see an immediate improvement this season. Plus, unlike a certain Tri-State basketball team that plays in MSG, they still have their draft picks

Considering they had only ONE direction they could possibly go (that being up), I don't think this is quite so impressive.

True. I guess things depend on Avery's ability to motivate that team. They played hard last season, they just made a lot of mental lapses.
