I believe his signing is a Walsh coup. He seems to have size, strength, hands, attitude, agility and touch. I am only speaking from the few clips I have seen but he sure as heck held his own against every teams I have seen him against in the FIBA tourney.

If you consider Randolph Morris a top 3 pick than yes. Otherwise NO.

Mozgov will be a solid rotation player but, no, he isn't a top 3 pick

7'1" Athletic and skilled. I think anytime a C like that is in the draft he's gonna be highly touted. It's just tough to put him in the top 3. I think that he at this age would be too much for a lot of college players, so it's a bit unfair to try and match him up at this stage of his career. In any event being in the top 3-8 is a big deal and I think he'd be right there with any college prospect.

Pick 10 - 15 ish is my guess. Maybe a bit later. His age might scare some teams off but his athleticism at that height is too much to overlook.

Favors had questions marks-according to several writers the Nets weren't overjoyed to have had to pick him, Tyreke Evans went 4. Harden-a 40% fg pct. SG?

Late 1st/early 2nd, at best, from what I saw in the Worlds.

He's 24, although it seems he started late. If he was 20/21 and doing what in recently did, you could have seen him go between 15-30.

I was pretty happy with the clips I saw, so I'm quite pleased with the fact that he came in under the radar. Just wish he was 2-3 years younger.

If you sit back and take an honest look at who was picked 6th in the last years draft--let me suggest that if the WC was before the draft--that Udoh would not have been picked over Mosgov--just my opinion. If someone said will udoh be a top 6 pick in this years draft before the season--youd ask me what I was smoking. A lot of it is timing

I agree, maybe 10-20 ish. As SupremeCommander alluded to, he is already better than Thabeet from what Ive seen. I don't know if his age has to do with why so many teams here and in Europe passed on him, probably the late bloomer thing. Its not like he is ready for the glue factory . He can still give us at least 8 good years if he can stay relatively healthy. Look at Odom, that would be a bargain by comparison, not to mention Curry.

Let's see how he plays first. It doesn't matter where you get picked, it matters what you do on the basketball court. I never understood this fascination with where someone gets picked, and the value attached to it.

WHAT THE FREAK HAVE WE BEEN DOING? These are legit games that at least give some indication of what he can do. It's not NBA, but it's very significant competition to judge him by. Much more meaningful than some SL games. As a prospect he's shown himself to be in the conversation with some of the best prospects in the draft. He's older so that is one thing that makes it hard to directly compare. In any event who he is right now is good enough for us to be excited about his prospects for the future.

Its hard to say where he would be drafted. There was a period where teams drafted foreign guys really high and then some teams got burned, most notably Denver. After that teams have been cautious with picks and most guys have been drafted in the second round and teams retain their rights. The reality is that euro players become eligible for the draft at a certain age, 18 or 19. Teams can draft them even if they are under contract and wait on them like the Spurs are doing with Tiago Splitter. No one has drafted Timofey for the last 5 years that he has been eligible. So in regards to this post he would not have been a top 3 pick. Even if he had a bad contract, see rubio, he would have been drafted if his talent was worth the pick.

I never heard of Mosgov before the Knicks signed him. I think I watched Mosgov 4 times(one game was his real bad game) in the wc--I think that he is raw but wouldve rode the wave of his size and athletic ability + production in this tourney to a top 10 pick in this last draft if they played prior to it. I don't think it's anything but exposure and timing. How many players move up the board when they play well in the NCAA's--happens every year. He's a non exposure player who obviously has just started coming into his own--he would ve been drafted high if the draft was held after this event--not based on hype but rather size/athletic ability and his production against some very good teams. If you dont think so--go look at the guys picked 5-10/12 or so and then think about it.

So, as I read the question, it is where does he rank in terms of "prospects" in any given draft. I differentiate that from where he is rated talent-wise. First, he is already 24 years old. That's generally 4 or 5 years older than other "top" propspects. Also, Mozgov's already played professionally in international play. The way I see it, the key to drafting prospects is predicting what they can become... the question about Mozgov as a prospect is whether he will 'develop' into a player or is this the player you are getting? With that in mind, you have to discount his upside. That said, I think he can step right in and be a defensive presence off the bench, maybe like a Steven Hunter. That puts him in the 15 to 30 range in my opinion--- where players can get drafted early or drop based upon need, scouting and personality.

The biggest difference here is that Mozgov has an NBA ready body. So, if a 23 yr old Mozgov was on the board in 2009, would you draft 22 year old Thabeet (2nd overall) over him? How about 20 yr old BJ Mullens (24th overall)? He probably gets taken 8th by the Knicks instead of J Hill.
