Thanks Pavvy. Mosgov hustles, stays active, and isn't afraid of contact. Just what the Knicks need off the bench. Great at finishing off the long pass as well. Divac may have competition for the euro-flopper crown.
edit, just watched the second clip, some real nice blocks there. |

i think Mozgov will be a player for us. he hustles and bangs and has some skill level. i see him being a solid piece for about 15-20 minutes a game most nights. i like his defensive awareness, too.

He'd better not try that flopping crap in the NBA, especially in MSG. He needs to give us 6 solid, hard fouls a night and 8-10 boards in 15-20 minutes of action. Any offense would be gravy.

With a little more strength training he's gonna be pretty tough in the paint. I notice that he gets knocked off balance just a tad, not much, but if he was a bit stronger there'd be little they could do with him. His base is a bit weak, but at least he has excellent agility for a guy 7'1". He keeps his arms up which is another thing I like to see.

Say What?
"I dont think Mozgov is as good as Darko." AnubisADL - care to elaborate on thst opinion? Darko was a malcontent and a malingerer who felt entitled to minutes. He sulked and displayed the worst qualities of a team mate on the floor in public. What makes you think he was out for anyone but himself? Darko? C'mon son. once a knick always a knick

I can see Mozgov having an up and down year as he adjusts to the NBA - kind of like Gallo this past year without the starters minutes. Hopefully he can keep up the good work habits and add strength.

Thanks for all the vids and info you've been giving us, Pavvy- when you started showing us highlights weeks ago, I was very unimpressed with him and thought he had very little to offer the team, but he seems to have improved a lot since then, and I'm now hopeful he can give us a good 10 to 15 mins this season- obviously it's too early to tell though, but we'll see.
misterearl is absolutely right- while Darko is probably more talented and could have helped us last season, but unfortunately, as with a lot of players, his attitude and sense of entitlement meant he never worked hard enough in practice to earn a spot on the rotation. At least Mosgov should still be eager to prove himself and has a realistic goal for this season (hoping to contribute the said 10 to 15 minutes) Really, the Layden years showed us that character alone is not enough, the Isiah years showed us that talent alone isn't enough- we need players with both, and I'm hopeful that we've succeeded in addressing that this offseason. |

I didn't hear him making trade demands last year did you? My comment about Mosgov was that he seems to beast against undersized weak centers. The guy is a project and to isnt better than a guy like Deandre Jordan. NY Knicks - Retirement home for players and GMs

Having Amare next to him is also key, as well as a good defensive PG. Good prospect. Looking forward to seeing him against the NBA players next game "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

Any offense would be gravy. A) Don't care if my own team player flops too much, since in the NBA that's par the course. Reggie Miller being a prime example. If he was a Knick no one would care. My guess is you'll see him setting picks, hustling on D, running the pick and roll, posting up, shot blocking, and a little jump shooting...the 6 fouls could be true, because he does seem to get into foul trouble. Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...
