This reminds me so much of the NVE rumors for the past 3 years. All these NY tabloids are such a load of BS.

Isiah and Collangelo had been talking since the minute Thomas got hired, yet I didnt hear any Marbury trades for ANY paper.

Crawford isnt coming here because we dont need anymore small players. IF we did get Crawford what would be the point? You have Steph, Houston and Penny ahead of him at the wing spots. Not to mention Frank Williams.

I would rather get Jerome Williams. He's a perfect fit off the bench for this team. Much better than Harrington

that's the NY media machine for you. There was like a snippet of an article yesterday about it in a non-NY paper, so all of the NY papers had to pick it up. I read most of the NY articles and none of them had anything to offer except for th Crawford name. No salary matchups, no NY players the Knicks would give up, no reason for both teams to do it. It reminded me of no less than a dozen posters.

actually, a lot was said about the trade and salary ramifications in various papers... read the Chicago paper and today's Post and News articles...

it'd have to be craw + combo of AD/JYD/Robinson for most likely KT + combo of Frank/Othella/Doleac and someone else... forgot who.

yeah right. Curry, is purely untouchable. Dont think they'd trade Curry for anyone outside of Timmy D or Dirk D, just the truth. Once Shaq is gone, Curry will be the only tough Center left in the league and the guy is about 21.

Very true!!! Hey this could be another smoke screen.. Afterwards, Zeke shocks us by acquiring a player we had never thought he would've acquired.. It's possible!!!

Yea I really don't see what would be so great about landing Crawford when we have Penny already. Don't get me wrong the guy has tons of potential but he would not be a good fit here. I wouldn't be suprised if IT did try to get him because of the whole 3 guard thing that he was a part of in Detroit. But, that would be stupid to trade KT along with FW or someone else to land Crawford and Jerome Williams.

what makes you think that if it did happen f-will would'nt be involved? i like frank, but i'd trade him for craw in a heartbeat. as for penny he can easily be slid over to backup kvh. we'd have a starting lineup of 1.steph 2.houston 3.kvh 4.davis (not williams)5.zeke w/backups 1.craw/norris 2.craw 3.penny 4.? 5.? depends on who we would trade.

that IS funny, but don't give Isiah credit, there is this GM/Pres/WhateverTitle named Walsh. He is the man down there.

Does Walsh still have the power over player personnel, or does that belong to Bird now?

Dude I put in my post that FW would probably be involved, I said I wouldn't trade FW and KT for Crawford and Williams (or Davis). I'd also swap Crawford for Williams but we probably would have to trade KT along with Williams which in my mind would be dumb because it would be a downgrade at the PF position even if we get Davis back. I don't think that we have to upgrade our guards right now because we already have a decent backup in Penny. What we really need is a athletic low-post bigman which would be very hard to get. Thats why I would rather leave the team as it is now and if a trade comes up that you can't refuse, than you make a trade.

this is an interesting discussion because one of he first rumors I read was Zeke would get Donny to run the day to day opps and IT would wind up coaching. I would say thats out now... but I wonder with Bird there if Donny still has the same play.

I would consider a Bulls trade for Crawford ONLY if we can then trade FW right away for an athletic big like Wilcox. Trade Kurt for Crawford and Jerome (who I love). Then FW for Wilcox. The other reason this works is KVH and Penny are playing VERY well. That would make the team look like this

pg Marbury
sg Houston
sf Penny
pf KVH
c Mutombo
With Jerome, Crawford, Wilcox, Anderson and Doleac.

This makes us MUCH younger and more athletic, and we dont have to worry about Kurt opting out and demanding $8 mill a year. You have Stephon running the show and thats easily the best bench in the NBA.

bunk - there's a word i don't hear that often. what, you getting ready for the sat's mike?

getting crawford would make for a SICK 3 guard rotation. but i would first move frank to get that atheltic 4, like a wilcox before i go and get crawford. but if isiah truly has vision for this team past this year (meaning an early elimination wouldn't bother him), then you try to acquire as much young talent as possible now, which would be jc. that would give us many valuable trading chips.

as for the junkyard dog, you know, i think he would be AWESOME in new york but i have to question if it would make us better. he does bring the rabidness to the court and we all would eat it up with a spoon BUT as witnessed by the game today vs. the raptors, can he give us the 10 or 12 points we may need from time to time at the backup PF position? i don't know if he can. if we could go and get a wilcox for frank and we could somehow coach wilcox into becoming a psycho out there, then that'd be better, no?
