What is this, some tribute is due to Alan Hahn?

Or is Alan Hahn is saying that Landry Fields "owes" him the privilege of breaking the story? Alan Hahn assumes that Newsday being owned by Cablevision translates into a rookie like Landry Fields being under his jurisdiction? Interesting.

Now that Landry Fields has broken the law, will Hahn's coverage be more biased against the young, first-time offender?

Will writers need to actually work for stories?

Will Landry Fields apologize or use his Stanford education to his advantage?

Fields had some info that he could have passed on in return for a favor possibly from a reporter in the future. I think you are taking this a bit too seriously.

If Landry breaks some news to Hahn- Hahn gives him some positive chalk in the press. You dont want to scoop the guys that cover you....

Hahn is a pretty hip guy but Fields reality is the technology that is around now. Fields is just doing what his peers do. Hahn was out of line. Getting a drivers license used to be a rite of passage now getting a cell phone is one. Tweeting that you got signed is a right for one of the 50+ guys that will join the NBA as rookies this year. It is a different world.
