"Knicks should sign J.R. Smith give him 5yrs $35mil".....BRIGGS

#Nuggets JR Smith was involved in a physical altercation at August 13th practice with the team. Police called. So that's apparently the straw that broke the camel's back... The player who JR tried to choke, was reportedly playing physical defense after the coaching staff asked him to.

According to White, the player -- who sources said lives in the Denver area and played previously with the now defunct Colorado 14ers of the NBA D-League -- is "not a member of the National Basketball Association."

He TRIED to choke a bum guarding him. This is a non-story. Guys getting into physical altercations after playing very physical is not out of the ordinary.

Its a non story if your coach isn't named Mike D'Antoni. The Knicks have a coach who requires character, compliance, maturity, and professionalism without it ever being communicated by an authority figure. Smith does not fit those requirements and his talent doesn't supersede it.

WTF does it take to make a dent here buddy ...prison time? A wife beating? You would want a player who chokes a teammate and had to have the police called on his arse? Like the team needs that crap with all the other crap they got going.

Perhaps he should cut off your air supply long enough for you to see the light?

Is Smith perfect? No. He wasnt choking a TEAMMATE. He was "trying" to choke some bum guarding him in practice. Therefore he choked NO-ONE. You and I werent there but the author made note to say he was being guarded physical.

The Denver Nuggets are trying to trade guard J.R. Smith(notes) and he didn't help his value on the open market one iota when the police had to come to the team's practice facility last Friday to get a report from a guy who claimed Smith "attacked" him, according to AOL Fanhouse.
The site reports that the man isn't planning to press charges against Smith, who had been hired by the team to face Nuggets players in practices. "They were just wanting the guy to be physical with J.R., telling the other guys, 'Hey, body up on the guys and really make them work,'" a source told Fanhouse. "J.R. just lost it. He tried to choke the kid, and the kid called the cops."
Smith, of course, spent 24 days in jail last year and was suspended seven games by the league for a 2007 car accident in which a passenger in Smith's car died from serious head injuries.

Like I said a story about NOTHING. A bum brought in to hack away at the players.

This is almost as pathetic as when Malik Rose was leaking stories every other day.

u're gonna make an excuse for every negative story about this guy because you want him. he’s supposed to be a major headache for his club and he looks like a guy who can’t handle pressure on the court. i'm sure he'll be great for a lot of low-pressure hoisting up shots off the bench during regular season games. he would have fit in perfectly on the marbury-jamal-nate-zach-curry-al jr 20-something win knicks.

I think I said give him the MLE like 3 years ago. Still worth the value of the money spent---especially on a team that couldve used his 3 pt shooting.

Yeah ...my bad...we need guys that have so much pressure at practice they blow up...just so we can have them knock down three's in the playoffs. Nobodies don't deserve respect as an NBA player does...NM this is all wasted on you. That much is obvious.

Look @#$#head. EVERY single person who steps on court against you deserves respect. Welcome to 'ignore'
