![]() There is scant news about that kind of stuff at the moment, but hopefully it will change soon- if your remember D'Antoni's interview during summer league:
http://www.nba.com/knicks/video/originals/ (you need to click on the video you want, it automatically plays the socially akward AR basketball camp) he said that he hoped the players would start coming in at around the end of August, and work out together to build some chemistry and work on their skills- that should be about now. Until then, so far this is all thats been said: Gallo- has been in Italy working with an old trainer of Kobe to work on improving his athleticism, fluidity and post moves. He then went to Africa with Turiaf to do the basketball without borders, and is due to return to NY either then end of this month, or early September. You can see some photo's and a vid with him at the Basketball Without Borders thing at the link below- although you can't really tell from them, I'd say he hasn't gained weight, if anything he's lost it, which is fine if it allows him to move like he did before the back injury: Turiaf- also did BWB, said he's worked out with Amar'e every day and met with most players Amar'e- Looks same as he always does, working out like he always does- here are two pics from last week: http://www.knickscity.com/forums/showthread.php?12274-Pics-of-Amar-e-Working-Out-at-MSG Azubuike: Weber said on KNL that he was due in for the first time a week or two last monday, and they'd take a look at his knee and see where he was at. As since then he hasn't revealed any working out on his Twitter and instead has been attending various events, it seems as though his knee isn't ready yet Mason Jr: says he's been working out and playing pick up games with Mark Jackson AR: No news- I doubt he's up to 235 lb, as didn't he say he'd gained 5 to 10lb in muscle since last year- if it's taken him that long to gain that amount, it's not going to increase that much before training camp- though, to be fair, he didn't look that skinny in the games before his injury last year- a lot of the highlights we've been seeing are from his first year when he was really skinny, hopefully that won't be a problem this year. Raymond Felton: no news what so ever since he signed Chandler: said he was working on his 3pt shooting, and his handle. Alan Hahn said in summer league that he looks like he's gained a lot of muscle, and his shoulders look huge (though I seem to remember he said exactly the same thing about Curry last year)- this is the first offseason he's had where he's been able to work on improving instead of rehabbing from surgery. Eddy Curry- ha! was working out twice a day before summer league, then got into legal problems and vanished back to chicago, probably to eat and rest Bill Walker- no news since the 27lb slimming down for summer league So yep, not much at all, but hopefully that will change in the next week or two when they start showing up at the Knicks practice facility |

![]() Well a few snippets from the past few days:
Thats tells you whats happening with your favourite Knick, Eddy Curry, but it also says that most of the Knicks are now working out together, and that Gallo is, like I suspected, looking leaner than last season- I know a lot of people thought he should gain weight this offseason, but I don't think he's the type of player who'll benefit from that- he looked a little chubbier and slower towards the end of last season, and I think it's better that he's quicker and more agile. Also this article explains what's happening with Azubuike: http://offthedribble.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/08/26/knicks-put-finishing-touches-on-youthful-roster/ Also his twitter confirmed that he had started working out yesterday. Like I thought, there's no way he'll be ready for the start of the season, and they shouldn't even risk it if he hasn't even been cleared for running and jumping yet. Recovery time is 12 to 16 months, he injured it in Novemebr and from all acounts he's recovering slowly. I wouldn't count on him being back properly until maybe even the all star break. And finally, if you saw Knicks Night Live: http://www.msg.com/our-teams/knicks It confirmed Chandler has gained muscle and has been working on his dribble and shooting- remember he couldn't work on improving anything last off season due to recovering from surgery- hopefully it pays off come the start of the season. He also said he's focusuing on being more vocal and more of a leader this season. His attitude and work ethic are great, I'm glad he wan't traded for Rudy. |
