Memphis resigning Gay to that ridiculous deal just basically defined the pecking order for that team next year. Option 1 is Randolph, Option 2 is Gay, and Option 3 is everyone else. Plus Gasol and Conley are RFA's this upcoming summer and centers are at a premium not guards. Drafting Vasquez and Henry while signing Tony Allen doesnt help the cause either. OJ Mayo will likely be the most expensive guard to retain too.

The issue is finding out what Memphis wants in return.

OJ Mayo's passing and shooting would compliment Amare.

The reason I brought up Mayo is because I dont see him and Gay co-existing long term on that team. Plus Memphis already tried to trade him last year for Ellis.

Only because they need a point and Mayo failed at that experiment. Now, he's a guy I would be willing to move Chandler for. A true 2guard to go with Azu

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

I'd trade AR plus a 2nd rd pick for OJ and Greivias Vasquez or Xavier Henry

Call me crazy but I'd actually do that too. As much as I like AR and his high ceiling..I love Vasquez toughness and ability to score.

I actually think that would work but we'd need to include a lesser guard like Douglas. So Anthony Randolph and Douglas for Mayo and Vasquez. They arent letting of Mayo AND Henry.

what's the rush to trade AR before he plays a single minute for us?
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Chandler would be the 2nd best forward on the team and could back up either Gay or Zach. Chandler and a 2nd rounder

You would trade a guy who can score, rebound, defend, and fill the lane just as good, for a guy who can just score.hmmmm.

In this day and age, you would trade a big guy for a small guy who can just score..

What's the difference between Mayo and Iguodala? Memphis and Philly's guard situation is the same....its a logjam and both teams need cap relief.

Either or is fine but Knicks shouldnt pawn Slim already. The kid is the teams best defender...could be amongst league leaders in blocks if he gets 30+ mins

Mayo is switching to point guard for the Grizz and looks like he has a chance to be a good one.

I like OJ Mayo... played in Summer League just to improve his game, and is a smooth player. Seems efficient to me, though I don't know the stats off hand to confirm that.
Rose is not the answer.

Mayo is like a big-time Raja Bell.

That said, I don't think that puts you over the top. I think you have to be careful what pieces you add now.

It would be great if our 2 guard was a stopper with a smooth stroke. Who is that player though?

Maybe we pick up Finley or Stackhouse and give them a few minutes as a stopgap for 2010.

If the longshot trade for Melo were to happen I suppose you could have him at the three, AR at the four, STAT at the five and one of Walker, Mayor or Gallo at the two depending on who went out in the trade.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I think you tend to get burned trading bigs for smalls. (though Greivis is a big small)

You know I gonna spin wit it

Chris Wallace doesnt want to pay Xavier Henry 300K and I doubt he springs cash for Randolph, Gasol, AND Mayo. I dont he springs dough for Mayo and Gasol.
