![]() TORONTO - Andy Rautins scored 19 points as Canada beat France for the second night in a row 85-63 in an international exhibition game Friday. Jevohn Shepherd added 12 points as Canada dominated the game before a crowd of 2,225 at Air Canada Centre. Florent Pietrus led France with 16 points and Nicolas Batum added 11. It was the third and final game played by the Canadian team in the Jack Donohue International Classic, which the team is using to prepare for the FIBA world championships that run from Aug. 28 to Sept. 12 in Turkey. Canada was the more cohesive and aggressive team again Friday, leading 24-12 after the first quarter. Canada led 47-25 on the strength of 14 points from Rautins. Batum had nine first-half points for France, which shot just 7-for-21 in the first half. Canadian head coach Leo Rautins likes to talk about how the team does not depend on one player, and used last year's Americas tournament as an example. "In the tournament last year I think we had six or seven different leading scorers," he said. "It's kind of been our M.O. It's not one guy that is going to beat you." In the first two games, Canada had two different leading scorers. The coach's son, Andy, led Canada with 19 points Tuesday in Vancouver in the 86-62 win over China. Jermaine Bucknor led Canada with 15 in the 69-58 win over France at the ACC on Thursday. But Friday it was again the coach's son who led the way. Notes: Canadian guard Jermaine Anderson missed Friday's game with a leg injury, which also prevented him from playing the other two games this week. . . France's forward-guard Batum missed Thursday's game because of illness but was in the starting line-up Friday. . . The Canadian team plays in the Acropolis Eurobank International Tournament in Athens Aug. 17-19. I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18

![]() That settles it. Rautins should be in the lineup whenever the Knicks play France.

![]() summer league as I noticed had little TeAM concept to it and I suppose a Guy like Rautins will do better in structure than a glorified Street game with many players desporate to gain attention.
Bully Walker looked awful most of summer league. Leo's kid not gonna break us if he does not pan out. |

![]() Guards and swing men usually do pretty well in Summer League Play. I generally think it is easier to dismiss poor play by big guys. Maybe familiarity with the offense will help Rautins but he looked outclassed in July.

![]() He did look bad in summer league, but I guess the 14th and 15th (I presume JJ will be signed) players on the the team don't really need to be ready to contribute- if all 15 players were demanding or deserving of playing time, then you'd have chemistry problems because everyone would be grumbling and demanding minutes they couldn't get. Also people compare him to JJ Redick- I thought JJ Redick was a scrub his first, second and third year- (I still don't think he's a good player, but a lot of people seem to hence his overly generous contract signed this summer), so you never know, he might develop so he's worth keeping for now, he doesn't really harm us.

![]() I knew the guy had more game than he showed in summer league. As someone else mentioned, he probably is going to be like JJ Reddick and take a few years to find his NBA game. However, unlike Reddick, this kid has potential as a pg.

True about team chemisty. It's nice to have a guy like Rautins develop as a shooter off the bench. He compliments players, can't create his own shot. Regarding Redick. You are way off on him. This guy was amazing in college, could create his own shot. (Rautins has JJ's stroke from deep, but that's about it (oh, can play pg in spots)). And the reason he was resigned to a nice contract (not to mention that other teams wanted him) was how much better he played last year, especially in the playoffs.
