Only by NY Fans and maybe a few other teams. His huge income from ads and endorsements will probably not take a hit.

Come on if he was Knick he would be God--so he goes to Miami and hes a dck. Many fans had unrealistic expectations and the Knicks fueled the fire by promoting BS through the media. All in a days work--LBJ could not win--and the last time I looked the US was a free country.

Sorry Briggs. With the crap he was pulling, he would still have been a dck, just our dck.

in basketball i'd have to say he is definitely the guy everyone loves to hate right now... in sports? there's plenty of worse scumbags & low lifes playing sports these days that deserve our ire much more than Lebron does... everyone deserves a second chance... it's up to Lebron to win back the fans' support, it's not gonna come to him for nothing.

Outside of cleveland, I'd say no. I think he turned most people off with his me conference, but even that he turned into a good thing. As a knick fan, I hate him, not because he didn't come to the knicks. I hate him because he's a heat, he's on a super team. More than anything I want nothing more to smash them like we used to. I look at it as how i used to feel about Jordan. During the 90's i hated him.

***LeBron James is expected, according to a source, in New York today when Team USA holds a practice/scrimmage at Radio City. James Tweeted, "New York New York got a treat for yall 2morrow."

seems to me like Lebron likes to play the role of villain... it's like he's rubbing NY fans' noses in the fact that he snubbed us to go to South Beach... if that's how he wishes to make his legacy, that's his choice... i don't think the ire directed at him is unjustified... he's been acting like a real douchebag with zero remorse for how he played his hometown fans in Cleveland & in all the other cities that were courting him this summer... he can tweet all he wants about how he's taking mental notes of everyone who's had something bad to say, but he needs to take a serious look in the mirror if he thinks he doesn't deserve what he's been getting.

Yea you are right TMS, I think this villain/heel role is shrinking to fit on dude. Funny how he squandered the sympathy he was getting from the alleged Delonte scandal. Ain't trying to start any forum wars, but reminds me how the US got the worldwide sympathy until Ol' W. had to avenge his daddy in Iraq. Uh oh, I did a D-Wade, lemme fall back.

Absolutely- I understand people being ticked off with his teasing of teams (Bosh even said in a recent interview that he (Bosh)"played with peoples emotions" deliberately because it was fun and he was bored (a**h***!). I get that people are disappointed he took the easy way out, much like if a child prodigy at school announced he was becoming a truck driver because he felt he'd be happier doing that. But the c**p that a grown man shouldn't make his own decision and do what makes him happy, otherwise he's evil, is ridiculous- what kind of idiot only does what other people want them to do instead of what they want to do? He's not Cleveland's servant.

And the ridiculous notion that you have to stay with the team you were born near, and never leave home otherwise you're a traitor and a low life, is beyond a joke. I can't believe some people seem to think that a player should never change teams from the one that drafted them- if all players did that then it would be a disaster because it would mean the ONLY way to get an all star would be to be so bad as to land the top pick, otherwise your team would have no shot of getting a top player.

I still want the Knicks to beat the heat badly, but some of the hate he's getting has been pathetic, unless you're the sort of person who only does what other people want you to do instead of what you want to do to make you happy.

Previous in his career - he went into almost every arena and was cheered (or at least admired). This year he will go into every arena and be Jeered loudly. If he is not the most disliked person in basketball....he certainly has taken the greatest fall from grace. Doesn't matter what he did, it matters how he is portrayed in the media. People are lemmings and will feed on the hate.....at least in the short term.

I disagree that Lebron will be fueled by the Villian role. Those types of guys (like Kobe for instance) are usually leaders/loners who feed on the me vs. the world. Lebron by going to Miami shows as more of a follower....choosing his buddies first and foremost. Time will tell, but I think the hate will effect him negatively.

I'm glad we didn't get him.

His posse is a joke- and just because you know some rich guy that gives you lots of money/power, doesn't make you smart.

and his behavior the last two years when he's gotten knocked out - first unsportsman like and walking off without a handshake & this year quitting such as he did.

He clearly had south beach on his mind for a long while, and there was no chance he'd play anywhere else.

if he'd been a man, he would have just stated that from minute one of his free agency instead of playing his charade. He never once considered staying, and never once considered joining any of the teams that made a pitch to him. That's dishonest and was a waste of their time - and time is a precious thing that no one should take from another person.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

lol at Knick for trying to shield LeDik from being booed when out and about. If he's that sensitive he should stay in Miami. Dik keeps showing up in NY like he's wanted.

for all the bad media about woods, he has yet to be boo'ed at any of the golf tournaments he has played. its the exact opposite as a matter of fact - the fans are always cheering for him and continue to support him now more than ever to get back on track.
