Outlaw: The Nets entered the summer with loads of cap room and a plan to land big-name free agents. But when LeBron and all the other major names went elsewhere, New Jersey's major free-agent move was giving a five-year, $35 million contract to Travis Outlaw, who has a career scoring average of 9.5 ppg. Lebron got 78 votes as "best new comer" and both Booze and Amare got votes.

Booze when healthy is a bigger issue than amare! But if he is healthy he comes at a bargain and paired next to Noah it could be big.

Amare at 100 mil is a bigger risk.

As far as getting 18 out of 86 votes there was enough hate for lots of teams and players. Again, Amare is a big ticket player. If he gets hurt, we are phuched!

Perception change or continuence will be sorted out with W-L record at seasons end.

I think the Nets really wanted Rudy Gay. I think they saw Outlaw as the best fit when they couldn't get Gay. I think they overpaid for Outlaw but I think he will fit well with what they are trying to do.

One thing that's annoyed me with the various off season moves reviews, is that everyone has been saying Amar'e is a risky move due to injuries (fair enough) and age, but the same people have then gone on to give Chicago an 'A' and blindly praised the Boozer signing. I think Boozer is just as much as a risk injury and age wise- he played 51 games 04-05, 33 in 05-06 and 37 in 08-09.

Also the fact that in that consultation with 'experts', 4 listen Joe Johnson as worst new comer, when he's on the same team shows exactly the calibre of those basketball minds!

So amare miss most of one season because of a knee injury, almost 4 years ago, gets poke in the eye, and had to lay on his stomach for 22hrs a day for 10 days..WOW...anyway, he's never really complain about the knee since, and he now wheres goggles...how is he injury prone.

MJ miss close to half a season because of a ankle injury...Was he consider injury prone after that.
Ewing had ice bags on his knees for the last 10 years of his career..No one made a big deal about it.

How does one become injury prone

Actually, I think people did make a big deal about Ewings knees, especially when he missed the 99 Finals.
