Honestly why would Isiah even want the job back? He has to know he's hated by most of our fans, he will get crucified night in and night out by us and the media.

Isiah doesn't care about that stuff. He enjoys the hate.

I see that he got an extension in 2007, but I'm not sure for how long. If he was still under contract and he's been doing this all along I don't understand why an announcement was necessary. It looks like another in a series of trial baloons regarding Thomas' position with the team.

I think Dolan's infatuation with Isiah (or Isiah's mind control) is a real thing.. so it's very possible

my feeling is that an announcement could be a way to not have the info come out that isiah is still with the organization through a "source" that gets leaked to isola, berman, etc. and then they go wild with it...why was it hidden, etc.

i suspect the fact that they released this when excitement for the team is higher than it has been, and during the dullest time of the year for nba fans, when most are not paying attention, was also strategic.

If it happens I am afraid I will have to change my loyalties until Dolan/Isiah are gone.

I really don't see how this franchise can survive another turn with him at the helm. Why is it even being considered?

where does it say that it's being considered?

can someone point out the source that says there is even a discussion about bringing isiah back as gm?

He's a consultant for god sake, why are some of you placing him as GM, IT's affiliation with the franchise has been exsiting without the title...that was so evident when they made it public about the JOE Johnson, recruitment, and LBJ..

Even before that, Walsh said IT would not be direcectly part of the day to day BB operations, but will be use in a consulting fashion. When IT took the job with FIU, most figured he was completely out of the organization, but there was no word out of dolans camp to confirm that, we just took it as if it was a no brainer..

I want you to show me at what point did Walsh, dolan, or who ever, stated that IT is in no way shape or form part of the knicks. They gave him a JOB with no title, send him on some scouting trips, then he landed the job with FIU..

I recalled when the FA frenzy started, the Media was still asking IT for his opinions.

If Isiah comes back as GM (which I really dont ever see happening again) I'm giving up my long held season tickets and officially becoming a wolves fan. Enough is enough.

Why the Wolves? There's always the Nyets.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Scroll down a bit and click on the interview with Isiah.

Classic Isiah refusing to even acknowledge his failure in NY and still maintaining his innocence from the trial.

Every time a question was about how this makes sense, how this looks, how the fans feel, he kept giving a standard Isiah Thomas answer that didn't even answer the question.

I tend to agree. Dolan and Thomas know there will be a backlash. The only way IT can become GM again is if the team makes it to the playoffs and does well for the next two years, and Dolan makes the move figuring that the team is doing too well for the fans to revolt. However, even in that scenario, why would Thomas want to be put himself out there like that. What he should do is seek the head scouting job, and just run that department with some experienced people. While I still have concerns about that, I think he could handle scouting and do as good a job as Walsh has done over the past 2 years.

Trust the Process

I'm a Cuse guy and they have Flynn and Wes Johnson. No other real reason. Maybe Denver if Melo stays.

This. Dolan is severely lovestruck.
