Stephan Marbury is redundantly featured yet again in another Marc Berman article about the Knicks. It would seem that Berman would not be so intellectually lazy and expand his reporting to follow more than one Knicks ex-player. Sadly, the one-trick pony cannot manufacture anyone better to shadow. Why not Chris Dudley, running for elected office in Oregon?

Or Bernard King, writing poetry in Atlanta?

Earl Monroe?

Or the most interesting man in the world, Timofey Mozgov at the World Championships? Certainly, the Post can afford the one way air fare to Europe.

The New York Post remains a poor excuse for a newspaper. Its politic is clearly grounded in the juvenile and biased. On second thought, Marbury IS a perfect fit. Vapid. Irrelevant. Yesterday's news.

Marc Berman's Lady Gaga said, "It wasn't in my character to say it any other way," Marbury said. "And they brought me in to make the case bigger."

No Steph, they brought you in to play better basketball.

isiah thomas is a man with extraordinarily poor judgment. i would love to keep him as far away as possible from any dealings with the knicks. this current attempt to rehabilitate his image by dolan in potential preparation to slot him back into a more influential role in the organization should be met with as much public outcry from as many sources as possible, resulting in as much pressure on dolan from as many angles as possible. if that includes chipping in from marc berman and stephon marbury i'm cool with that.

"This ain't charity" -Isiah Thomas

Marv - wasn't it Dolan who approved the signing of the troubled Vin Baker?

With all the positive vibes surrounding the New Knicks roster, and the non-basketball news dog days of August, the timing is wack. I am not sweating Isiah for doing what he has been doing all along since he left the building. I could care less what he does behind the scenes if it makes the Knicks a better basketball team.

Did he talk to Lebron? Big freakin' deal. It's a free country.

Did Isiah make enemies with 95% of the NBA? Maybe. Red Auerbach was the largest azz in the league and despised by anyone outside of Boston. Yeah, I know, but Red WON so that makes it cool.

Is Isiah The Devil?

No more than Scott Layden or Al Bianchi, and he traded Rod Strickland.

I have more a serious problem with Stephon Marbury as the only Berman spokesperson for everything orange and blue.

i liked the baker signing. it was worth the risk.

i'd LOVE for isiah to be hated by 95% of the league and loved in new york. dang right that would have meant he had won here.

he's no devil. he's a horrendous executive. sunk us with s**t players, s**t payroll, s**t administration.

and i was THRILLED when he was brought in and layden kicked out.

live and learn man.

The Answer Man was also thrilled when Isiah was hired.

The Answer Man also liked the signing of Qyntel Woods. It was worth the risk. I hope Qyntel has a alternate career doing something productive.

The Answer Man liked the signing of Matt Barnes. He did not like the sideshow with Anucha, Don Chaney being dissed, a selfish Marbury pouting on the bench or losing. The Answer Man jumped for joy the draft night David Lee was selected.

I have a crisp new dollar bill for the first reporter to interview Donnie Walsh and provide a direct quote about where Walsh stands in this. Anything less is tabloid material.

One of the weirdist things about the Zeke/Marbury era is that each of them had another grown man completely infatuated with them, no matter what they did- Dolan with IT, and Berman with Marbury. I used to think Berman was just sucking up to steph to try and get exclusive info, but he's carried on doing it long after Steph left and became irrelevant, so that can't be it.

Marv - if Walsh wasn't returning calls he was either:

A. Busy watching tape from the Euro Championships

B. Waiting for the story to blow over and underestimated how many hacks wanted to keep it going to sell papers

C. Editing his letter of resignation

D. Talking to Allan Houston, "this is just a sample of how crazy New York gets over nothing..."

E. Resting comfortably, watching re-runs of Good Times

Walsh built it up so Isiah can tear it down.

Knicks are more iteresting off the court than on.

"According to the Knicks, Thomas’s part-time job will include assisting the team in scouting prospects and recruiting free agents. Florida International went 7-25 last season in his first year as its coach, but he has been credited with attracting some coveted recruits."
