Mozgov played a lot better last night vs powerhouse greece (top3 in Europe) but the fact is that Russia as a team sucks- they got murdered by 35 to Greece in a friendly game.
once again i saw that Mozgov LOVES the pick and roll and hes good at it - its just a matter of his teammates getting him the ball which i hope felton can be hooking him up better than any of his russian teammates. he sets the pick and can really create space when rolling as you can see in video. he was open lots of times under the basket fighting for position or right after the screen but his teammates were too slow to get to him. another one of his strengths is his blocking straight up- he can chase down a player to the basket and has great instincts on blocking the player without fouling just like you see in the video. he keeps his position on defense- when the offensive player posts him up mozgov just puts his hands up and is like a statue making it harder for his opponent.
some weaknesses that i saw again is his defending the pick and roll- sometimes when he goes out to help out on the screen he gets caught with his back facing the ball when he goes back to his player and gets burned for an easy layup.
he also tends to get some silly fouls which hell have to work on playin in the nba!! he also needs to polish up some of his offensive moves.
in Europe players usually go around the player to score as opposed to the NBA where if somebody sees an open lane hell drive and dunk over on whoever comes his way--- well mozgov has the physique to go over the opponent and always looks to do so.
his blocks were on #7 Vasilis Spanoulis (played for houston rockets 2006-07)
#13 Dimitris Diamantidis (considered one of greeces best players of all time)
#8 Nick Calathes (drafted by wolves 2009 45th pick)
