HOU has got several inquiries about F Jared Jeffries ($6.8 m in final yr of contract), according to a source. Knicks dangling Curry, assets

I rather have that turd Eddy Curry rotting his fat ass on the bench and not playing than having Jared Jeffries here playing and taking minutes away from Anthony Randolph and Ronny Turiaf.

With curry making almost double what JJ does, it seems like Houston would have to include assets. Or this is just a bogus report.

Couldn't Mike-O-roni just start Eddy at PG during the preseason, and then the T-Wolves owner would take him off our hands for free?

There has to be some better way to get rid of this $11 mil sinkhole.

I really never liked watching Jeffries play. Whether or not that trade worked or not. I'd rather forget and move on.

.75 x Eddy's salary - JJ's salary = $1,574,247.25 which is the minimum amount of salary that Houston would have to add to make the trade fit the cap guidelines. The only expiring contract that Houston has that would fit would belong to Chuck Hayes.

One possible (but unlikely) reason that I can see to make a trade like this would be if Donnie had a move in mind that requires a smaller expiring contract in order for this other move to fit the cap.

Its important to have high character, low upside guys around to take minutes away from the young guys that need to be coached. This move allows Randolph, Douglas, Timofey and the draft picks the chance to not play until next spring or for the entire year. This is just a proactive move because the 'system' is so difficult to understand.

If Walsh bails out Morey from Ariza's albatross contract and gives up Chandler in one move he turns Morey into Jerry West. This shouldn't happen.
