Absolutely earned it very nice player

The Phoenix Suns have signed guard Matt Janning to a multi-year contract, the team announced today.

The 6-4, 198-pound Janning was a member of the Suns’ 2010 entry in the Las Vegas Summer League. The Minnesota-born guard started all five games for the Summer Suns, averaging 12.6 points, third-most on the team behind only Gani Lawal and Earl Clark, and 5.8 rebounds, second-most of any Sun (Lawal).

Saw him play for Boston in the Orlando Summer League and I didn't care for his play at all. Dude played very selfish. Boston put the ball in his hands & had him operating at the point. He's no PG. Wasn't focused on distributing the ball at all -- only trying to score it himself, jacking up attempts from all angles. He didn't impress me at all from what I saw..What would've impressed me -- seeing him try to set up his fellow teammates like Ryan Wittman, DeShawn Sims, etc.. Never happened. Dude was only concerned about one thing: getting his..Jaycee Carroll's another guy who's not a natural PG, yet he doesn't come off like a me-first type like this kid. Carroll actually played well at the point in spirts. I understand looking for your own offense & trying to make an impression but at the same time, if they're putting the ball in your hands and asking you to run the point, you should try to facilitate and get others involved at some point..I remember commenting on his selfish play in the SL thread at the time.

Kid has skills I listed players who were definite lookers during Summer League who were under the radar. Interesting to note Scottie Reynolds is going overseas.
