To me the key to this clip comes at 1.37, when he’s in the green uni. Here he executes a controlled drive to pressure the defender, initiate some contact and create some space, setting up the short unblockable jumper. If I were coaching him I’d be drilling him constantly on moving to receive the ball in that zone around the court, and initiate that move. The rest of the clip shows him shooting his 3’s, which he does way too often imo. or the occasional dramatic drive to the rim for the dunk like the one over hibbert. That’s a good look when it’s available but he doesn’t have the speed, explosiveness or trickiness of handle to get that one going that often. But that move at 1.37 could be career-defining for him. It’s dirk-like and potentially unstoppable in this league from a man of his size and shooting touch.

I agree, that move he did on beasley is something he can do on just about anyone, He could make that a go to move of his, as you said, with his size and touch, it can be unstoppable.. Anyone who sits around and waits for the lottery to better themselves, either in real life or in sports, Is a Loser...............

Gallanari if he knocks down the majority of his shots this season , should be able to become a valuable assist man when teams come out and scramble trying to defend his range. The fake, dribble drive kick should be there for him with all the finishers on the team like Randolph Amare, Chandler etc...

The problem I see with his drives is it looks like he is stuck in molasses while dribbling. If he played closer to the rim he'd have to make one dribble and 2 steps and be in dunking range. He has a very good feel for the game, and for a big man, his ball handling is impressive, so he should be able to do a lot of those Allan Houstonesque moves with no problem, even though he should take it to the rack much more. If he takes advantage of his tools this season (Hopefully it's just a matter of him gaining confidence in his talent) then he could end up putting up all star scoring numbers. The addition of Felton and Amare and even AR should create a lot more space for Gallo to do some work though. I think the Knicks were a very guardable team last season b/c they had no REAL threats besides Lee on the pick and roll, and Gallo behind the arc. Now they are much less guardable, so defenses wont be able to make things so difficult on Gallo. Playa is right. We need him to get a step quicker, and he needs to play like this is his team...Aside from Amare...Gallo is basically option #2 on offense. The Carmelo rumor's should be lighting a fire under him...Carmelo plays his position. He's gotta bring it every possesion just like he showed in Europe.

Everyone was worried bout his back last year he even seemed a tad hesitant early on... Late last year he showed he could be # 1 option very easily! Hahn visited him and said he looks stronger!! Gallo said he is working on first step post explosiveness and core!! Sounds like he knows too!! All in all I can't wait to see Gallo this year KNICKS on the way UP!!!
