The Lakers are trying to trade guard Sasha Vujacic along with a future first-round pick in order to get his salary off the books, according to sources.

Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer writes that Los Angeles tried to move Vujacic for the non-guaranteed contract of Delonte West before the Cavaliers sent him to the Timberwolves earlier this week.

He would be an expiring asset and the first rounder would be icing on the cake.

I think we have between $2-3 M in cap space. Vujacic makes a bit less than $5.5M.

I'll let others figure out the math and the options, but right now I don't think we can do it without getting another team involved.


Is LA is looking for a way to sign its two rookies- Caracter and Ebanks, and perhaps to resign Brown?


A Lakers #1 (29 or 30?)is not worth much to your cap ($1M)- but is a guaranteed contract pick, unlike 31, 32, etc., and you wonder if it would hurt our flexibility at all next year. Donnie declined to move up simply because of that fact this year, from what I understand.

I don't think there will be a problem unless somebody wants to make a problem, ... If they really want to make a problem, they're going to have to make a decision about how they want to spend their adult life in terms of playing in the NBA or not.

i would definitely make that trade to get their 1st rounder if we have enough room to absorb his contract... the pick would come in very handy later on down the line.

Err Fernandez is the one I mean here.....
Was reading their forums before the draft...the general uptake was he wilts. I dunno anything haven't watched them enough to notice him. they seemed to be hoping someone would take his contract.
