i can't believe he asked chris webber how long it took him to be comfortable in the league...

webber's response should have been:

"uh, when i led my team to the playoffs in their first year and won rookie of the year?"

This guy is god awful. Minny's owner must have lost his mind to let this go on.

At least Dolan is always willing to fire everyone and go a new direction. Hopefully THREE's the CHARM (1 laydumb, 2 isiahss, 3 The Don)

So what did Kahn say, what was so bad about his comment ?
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Here's what was said Kahn on Beasely:

"He's a very young and immature kid who smoked too much marijuana and has told me that he's not smoking anymore, and I told him that I would trust him as long as that was the case," Kahn said this morning, during an interview that will air at 1:40 p.m. on 1500 ESPN Twin Cities.

He went on to say "[Beasley] had a very issue-free season in Miami ... He's an incredible talent, and for us to be able to land him for ... two second-round picks -- that's the kind of risk that I'll take any day of the week."

NBA policy is that it is against the rules to comment on substance abuse issues. he mentioned marijuana by name. he could have just said, "michael has promised me his problems are in the past."

but he's an idiot so he didn't.

kahn's major problem seems to be that he's defensive and feels the need to justify all his moves.

If he ends up getting himself fired my guess is the next gm trades Rubio's rights pretty quickly.

The NBA has got got to be one of the worst managed set of businesses out there. You can pick guys of the street and they will come up with better decision than all these GMs do over and over again.

Its funny because Kahn runs his team like he spends all of his time hitting the hookah.

Kahn is the worst GM EVER. He trades his best player (al jefferson) for nothing. Then give DARKO 20Million. Drafts 500 PG's. Minnesota will be the laughing stock of the league. If darko hasnt gotten it straight in 7 seasons, he never will.

Yeah, I was blown away when I heard that. I mean, what kid of idiot says his player used to smoke weed. Nice way to blow any chance Beasley has of being accepted into the mainstream community in Minny. Even though, having lived in Minny, it probably will not hurt him that much. They are pretty liberal up there.

I agree with playa on this. Kahn was just explaining how his new player didn't do anything that serious and how he trusts him. He should have avoided mentioning marijuana by name, but that's between him and the league. Kahn's done some very stupid things, but this is just a blip on the radar.

kahn is a lawyer, shouldn't he know what to NOT say to get him fined?

let's see. i'll sign darko, then trade for mike beasley. then i'll trade my best player for cap space, becaues he plays the same position as those 2 guys. then i'll use that cap space to sign a point guard, even though i have two point guards currently on the roster and the rights to one of the best basketball players not in the nba (also a point guard). none of these moves make any sense.

the t'wolves have FOUR point guards now (flynn, sessions, ridnour, rubio) -- and rambis, their coach, runs the triangle offense. the 1 is the least important position in the triangle. so bizarre.
