We already have felton. Chris paul has won one playoff series in 5 years and they had a LOT of talent on that team. Dont get me wrong I would take him--but not at the price it would cost NOW.
Right now NO will want 3.00 on the 1.00 + he is coming off knee surgery and has not played
D walsh was patient for 2010 I do think he over did it for the little moves we couldve made--like I wouldve bought hat 25 pick for whiteside and saved the money on the russian
I cant see him spending 3.00 for the 1.00 on Paul when he could get him free of charge.
The 2008 Hornets won 56 games in a stacked Western Conference, and took the San Antonio Spurs to 7 games in the semi-finals.
Paul's supporting cast was mainly Tyson Chandler, David West, and an aging Peja Stojakovic. The rest were scrubs. I'm not sure how you can say that team was loaded with talent.
We could easily replicate the 2008 Hornets, except better and younger. Amare > West, Gallinari > 31 yr old Peja, Okafor and Chandler's a wash. Plus, we're not New Orleans and can actually attract more FA's and spend to our heart's content.
Paul/Amare/Gallo can be the start of a real contender, and we can't risk that just to see if Randolph taps into his potential.
I'm surprised that one year on the bench has made people forget how ridiculously good Chris Paul is. And how we're pinning our hopes on a PG who's averaged 13 ppg, 6 apg, and 41% FG for his career. Don't get me wrong, Felton should improve under D'Antoni (maybe even to 15 ppg and 9 apg), but he's still no Chris Paul.
