so we got two 2nd rounders, anthony randolph, azuibuke, turiaf for an un-restricted free-agent?

that's value.

Not bad. Considering Golden State will probably suck, these could be some high second rounders.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I would have preferred Anthony Morow. Hopefully we stop drafting scrubs in the 2nd round.

indeed, very good value for D Lee.

I was thinking that too. They're almost late 1st rd picks.

Wow, seems surreal when you lay it out like that. Guess they really love David and can live with his defensive shortcomings. I think the Knicks made the right move (based on circumstances) but I have long believed that David will enhance his game every year. I would not be surprised if at some point he develops a defensive game plan for himself (i.e., effort would be a good start). Good luck to him. I like that we added lots of needed pieces, got younger, faster, more athletic and cut salary all at the same time. Now we also got those two 2nd rounders to boot. All for a guy who could easily have walked.

Class. He's the kind of player I could see the Knicks re-signing for his last contract (i.e., character guy).

Man, I would be so with that. D. Lee is a real good dude in my book, did you read the story about how he went to the funeral of the NBA's Knicks security officer who died recently? And he was the only one out there on the court on Legends Night, even though they got creamed that game by Jennings & Selfelosha.

(I was at that game, and had to tolerate a Boston fan behind me who yelled "Young Money!" every time Jennings made a play. Ugh.)

Little off topic, but just noticed the 2nd round pick we gave up for Amare is top 55 protected, according to that link. Really a good job by Donnie this off season.

I agree about getting value, I can't remember the last time the Knicks got this good
a deal going our way. Its usually a question of how badly we got abused.

Really? It could be a very long time until we give up the pick (although hopefully it won't be!)

Well Lary Fields looks like he has potential, so getting two extra second round picks could be huge. At the very least, we might be able to package our pick and GS's pick and move up and get a second late-1st round pick.

I don't understand why Golden State were so forethcoming with everything- maybe they saw getting rid of Turiaf and Azubuike as salary dumps, but even then if they were giving up Anthony Randolph, why did they also include the 2 second round draft picks? Especially since Golden State are usually good at scouting/drafting (not always though!). It does make me wonder as to what pther deals we had proposed for David Lee- they must have been pretty good for the Warriors to give up what they did...

Salemanship. Walsh said, hey you are giving me three guys, two of which had season-ending injurys, with zero All-state appearances. I am giving you a 27-yr old All-Star PF. I have five other offers on the table, all of which include a player that is as good if not better than any of the scrubs you are sending my way. I want three rotation players and some draft picks. You are going to screw up the second round picks anyway, so just give them to us (he probably left the last part out, but GS probably realized that is the truth).

It was nice that we finally got someone to overpay in a deal.

Donnie's earned another nap with this move!
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.
