That's a shame. I feel bad for him. I know he wanted to play and it's an honor he deserves but honestly as a Knick fan, I gotta admit, I'm a little relieved..I want him fresh, healthy and ready to go for us right outta the gate...Very similar to how I felt about Robbie Cano declining participation in this year's HR derby -- I felt that was the right decision for Cano (I wasn't crazy about Swisher participating as well -- thank God he hasn't suffer any negative effects)..That event has be known to screw up player's swings and Cano is way to valauable to the Yanks (not to mention the guy's chasing a batting title, possibly the triple crown)...A slightly different situation but similar...If true, I'm sure it'll sting for awhile but hopefully Amar'e gets over this quick and realizes that it's probably in his best interest..He's got bigger fish to fry. |
