Patrick Ewing was the best player we had in the past 25 years. I saw his son play and I thing that he was just as good as anyone we drafted this year. If we turn him away if will be a slap in the face to Patrick Sr. And I wouldn't blame him if he never came back for any type of celebration of old timers or what ever.

Ewing Jr plays a position which we do not need. He is strictly a hustle player with a weak outside shot and handle. Landry Fields is already better than Ewing Jr. We don't have to sign him because he's Ewing's son. There's a reason nobody else has signed him thus far for the past few years. I doubt he'll be signed if we pass on him either.

I respect Ewing Sr. and they should bring him back to the organization but signing his son to be on his good side is lame.

What NBA franchise has been made or lost by their 15th man?

I've always thought that the sons of NBA players, while perhaps not as talented as their fathers on the court, had a lot in the upstairs.

I say bring him here & potentially queue up our next coach!

Would not have any problem bringing him to pre-season camp, but we have too many guys who do what he does and can do it better.

I will also say that Fields is a better player, even now, and will get better. Marcus Landry is a more versatile player with a better handle who can play better D, and made the team last year, and even he is not guaranteed a spot on our roster because of the emergence of Fields.

I would love to be able to carry Baby Ewing, but I would be very surprised if we did.

would love to keep a roster spot open for the kid, he's worked hard to get an opportunity & has done everything the Knicks have asked of him... hopefully Andy Rautins doesn't turn out to be this year's Anthony Roberson.

Just cause he's Ewing Jr. doesn't mean he should have a roster spot.

He's gotta earn that.

players have been given roster spots without having earned it from this regime... players have been given playing time without having earned it as well... just being Ewing Jr. seems as good a reason as any i've heard to explain why guys like Jonathan Bender & Anthony Roberson were given roster spots on this team the past couple seasons.

ummm... didn't we all complain when players got roster spots we didn't think they earned. When you only have 15 job openings you hire the best you can get, if it's Ewing Jr. fine if not sorry you hirer the player who has the potential to help your team the most.

I heard Julius Erving comment on why sons of legends were not always good as their fathers. He said that its hard to become the player he was when you spend your summers vacationing in the south of France. A lot of these legends children may not be as hungary for the hardwood as their dads.

Landry Fields and Marcus Landry are the top two I'd pick to bring aboard. Ewing Jr would be third. I would think all three would come to training camp and early preseason.

actually no, we all didn't complain when that happened... when i brought that up the past 2 years i was told that a 12th man spot on the team is inconsequential so it was a non-issue... now all of a sudden it's a huge issue if Ewing Jr. is given a spot over a guy like Andy Rautins, but it wasn't an issue when Anthony Roberson was given a roster spot over Ewing Jr.? i agree, players shouldn't get roster spots they don't deserve... i happen to think Ewing Jr. CAN help this team, especially if Wilson Chandler gets traded this year... i hope he wins a roster spot, not out of feelings of nepotism, but out of the fact i think he can do some good things on the court... if Rautins or another player beats him out of the spot from their actual play on the floor, so be it.

I like the way Ewing plays. He should have made the team two years ago. He looked good in Vegas and definitely outplayed Rautins. Ewing got bypassed for a shooter the last time and it really did not benefit the Knicks. The fact that Ew is 26 shouldn't matter. Rautins is 24. Rautins is no spring chicken in the world of prospects and his talent doesn't appear to be at an nba level.

I agree with the above. I haven't seen these guys play ,so have no opinion on who should make it. As long as it's based on their ability to help the team

If Patrick Ewings son Ewing JR. get's turned away by the Knicks again it will be a damn shame.
