Form today's NY POST:

The Knicks are now 2-0 since Chaney's firing, winning with Herb Williams Wednesday. The players said Wilkens tweaked the defense, using a different method on defending against pick-and-rolls, doing less switching.

Marbury said Wilkens gave him advice during the huddle, telling him to use his "crossover" dribble more to get to the basket, as the new coach felt he was forcing passes inside early on.

"He's teaching us," Marbury said. "He's straight to the point. He gave us the go to be aggressive."

Said Wilkens, "He should've had 20, 23 assists. They bobbled a few passes. I told him, 'They'll get used to you.' "

Before getting too pumped, it should be noted Chaney also won his first game as Knick coach. "I'm very excited about moving forward," Houston said. "I feel like maybe Isiah and the organization had to make these moves. Now we feel like, let's just get on a winning streak."

OK, his teaching, making suggestions, making adjustments and HE IS INSTILLING CONFIDENCE! This is what he is bringing to NY. Serously how many times did you see chaney walk up to a plyer on the bench while the game was going on and talk about something with him? Honestly, I never did. I saw wilkens do it a few times last night.

Here is more from the NY DAIly News

As Marbury cracked, "All he did tonight was call timeouts."

But as Wilkens pointed out, those timeouts were precisely placed. Defense is Wilkens' doctrine, and when the Knicks had sloppy stretches in the third and fourth quarters, he was quick to bring the game to a halt. Conversely, Wilkens became most animated when the Knicks forced two shot-clock violations in the second quarter, hounding the ball as the Sonics ran a disjointed set.

"When you come into the Garden, you better bring your best ball," Wilkens said.

"He was doing a lot of teaching," said Hardaway (eight points, seven rebounds). "Everything hit at the same time for the first time since I've been here."

Can we at least wait until we play a "REAL GOOD TEAM" before you start anointing him. Didn't you accuse me of doing such before? Everybody knows your tendencies now, in the midst of change you seem to be in the clouds of amnesia.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Seattle is 19-18 now, in the Western conference. That qualifies as a pretty good team. They were 8-8 on the road until last night. That qualifies as a pretty good team.

I don't get you, are you just being difficult on purpose. You want NY to win, don't you? The team is totally different than it was 2 weeks ago! It ahs life, energy, a real PG and a real COACH. that is why I am hopeful for them.

As for amnesia, if that is what it takes to forget the last 2 years under Laydumb and num-Nutz Chaney, than I am all for it. I want to erase those 2 years from my memory!

Don't get too over excited over one game, Seattle's habit of trying to win at the Garden has not changed.

I want to see what kind of rhythm Wilkens is going get this team in

Lenny Wilkens will get this team in a rhythm for WINNING.

After all, it's what a Hall of Fame coach does! LOL
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!
