The Knicks are meeting with Josh Howard on Wednesday.

Howard is also considering remaining with the Wizards, but has also received interest from the Bulls and Celtics.

Don't think it is more than 3M- and I think it is a bit less.

Actually, if we don't sign the second round picks...

Amare $16M
Curry $11.3M
Turiaf $4M
Felton $7.5M
Kelenna $3.4M
Gallo $3.3M
Mozgov $3M
Wilson $2.1M
AR $2M
Toney $1M
Walker $.85M
caphold .45M

total: $54.9M
cap: $58.1M

so we have about $3.2M in cap space. we can just wait to sign the picks to minimum deals after the cap room is out.

i wonder if they'll offer Josh Howard a $3M deal for one season?

he'd be great wilson insurance.

Yeah this is weird. Josh Howard is not the type of player you sign to be at the end of the bench. Signing him probably means a Wilson Chandler trade is on hold. : /

i wonder if the plan is to sign Josh Howard and then trade Wilson for Rudy Fernandez?

as someone else said: that arrest may have been Wilson's death sentence for his Knicks career.

I dont see the upside. We have Chandler there. Howard isnt a long distance shooter. If it was 2-3 years ago different story but he's got some baggage to go along w/ a gimpy body. Keep developing Chanler. I would start him at the 2. Chandler has had his own injury issues so I would like to keep his minutes to around 30. Douglas could get 12 minutes a night at the backup PG and another 15-20 at SG. I think that makes the most sense. He's small but at 6'3 w/ a 6'8 wingspan he's not a (Nate) pipsqueek.

I really dislike Josh Howard.

While he is vastly more talented than Wilson Chandler he is an absolute head case. He's also pretty lazy choosing to chuck from deep instead of attack the rim like he used to.

I don't like this guy.

If this is where we're going I'd be against it.

If it's Chandler or Howard I keep Chandler 100x over and you guys know I'm not too keen on Wilson.

Just say no...and hope this is bogus.

Again, very talented player, but lazy and foolish. Drugs, crapping on the American flag, alienating teammates because he thinks he's a franchise player, choosing the easy way out during games.

This is not a good idea if true.

We just spent all this time purging malcontents from our roster and we want to add one of the bad ones?

Think a skinny Al Harrington with a serious attitude problem. That's what you've got here.

And if we're doing it so we can trade Chandler I don't think that's necessary.

Turiaf(platoon)
Amare
Gallo
---chandler for now---
Felton

Why bring in Josh Howard? Amare isn't playing center and Gallo isn't playing PF so that Howard can play SF... just so we can bring in Rudy as a SG?

I don't like it. In NBA live it might just work out perfect. In the real world you're asking for problems. Big ones.

Please pass. Please.

How much sense would it make to trade Chandler for his 1 off court issue, then replace him with Josh Howard who has had numerous off-court issues concerning weed, etc. Doesn't make sense to me.

None at all. None.

Just keep Wilson and hope he improves.

Or make the possible Chandler trade and don't try to replace him with Howard.

I really don't like this rumor at all.

Good point. I forgot about his off the court problems.

Just pointing out that any Knicks guy who gets pulled over (Nate, Spreed, etc) seems to be gone less than a year later under the Dolan rules.

Weak at shooting 3s and he would be playing at a position where we really need a sniper from deep. You could be right- might be something else being looked at by Donnie, and not just Howard.

I am not sure that I would take Howard over Chandler at this point in their careers, and to be honest, I am lukewarm about Rudy as a player.

We already have Azubuke who is injured--why do we want another injured guy? Im sorry but we need to address back up PG as I do not think T douglas-IF put into the role of LEAD PG would be a winning situation. Unless there is another trade coming--Im not comfortable with PG wit this team. Last year showed we need 3.
