Finally a few positive things:

New York is crazy deep but have a big sore at the center spot. While Camby makes the transition to the 5 spot (now going on three years) N.Y. brought in a few new faces to help Spree and Houston at work. Howard Eisley and Shandon Anderson are great pick ups that rounds out the distribution and scoring in the back three spots. Shandon is nice on defense too and having these guys gives van Gundy a myriad of options at the 1, 2 and 3 spots. Clarence Weatherspoon checks in as the back up power forward to Camby or Kurt Thomas and will give the Knickerbockers a better rebounding presence.

Houston's contract makes him the franchise but being the fourth best 2 guard in the East but highest paid, won't come without it's pressures. No doubt N.Y. will be back in the mix and when they're there, anything can happen. Remember 1999?

They lost Larry Johnson and Longley to retirement and are better off for it.

The positives don't outweigh the negatives - that our frontcourt is weaker than the ballboy!

I think weak isn't the way to put it. A line-up of Camby, Keon Clark, Reggie Miller, Rick Hamilton, and Howard Eisly is weak. We have a few very solid big men in Weatherspoon, Harrington, and Thomas to go along with Camby. You can call our collection of big men very short, but definetly not weak.
