i'd love it if orlando matched chicago's offer to reddick and then chicago turned around and made a big offer to miller.

That would be great if he didn't go there. It seems like everything has been falling into place there. It shouldn't be that easy to get a good player if you have three max guys on your roster. I believe those three contracts are supposed to take up 75 or 90% of their cap space.

Haslem said part of the reason he signed with Miami is because a good friend of his (Mike Miller) told him he's signing there too.

i think it adds up to something like $50M of the $58M cap. they have $4M to give to haslem and $4M to give to miller and a bunch of minimum deals.

Was it that much for this year? I think they start out lower and get the 10.5% increases over 6 years. For some reason I calculated that those guys ended up with about $14+M/yr. Gives the Heat greater ability to sign their other players.
