1. Harper
2. Rivers
3. Jackson (his rookie year he was the best, but dropped off after that)
4. Ward
5. Anthony
6. Childs

(Do you mean Rod Strickland? If so, he had the potential to be the best, but Bianchi foolishly traded him for an old Mo Cheeks.)

Houston is a better all around player than Starks, although Starks could take it to the basket better, and was better defensively.

haha yea I meant rod strickland. and yea through in moe cheeks into that mix, forgot about him. he did some good stuff, had great hands on defense.

and you're right about starks, definately could take it to the hole stronger and was a hard nose defender..he also could go off from 3 land as well-but we all know how cold he could go.

Wow... I'd think that Starks was a more versatile & complete player (pretty effective on both ends), but Houston's size, shooting, and scoring are superior.

Starks used to have a post-up game in the CBA, but that never emerged as a miniature 6'5" wing in the NBA. His shot was always suspect, but his trademark was his energy and reckless style of play. Because of that style, you always left with the impression that he was giving it his trademark 110%.

Houston on the other hand is built like the prototypical SG-- the right size, right body, the deadly outside touch. He's always given the impression that he should be able to rebound more... should be able to get more assists... but he's averaged about 3 of each during the productive parts of his career. Funny thing is now that he's getting a little older, he's playing with the best PG of his career (Spent most of his career playing with big-time wings (Grant Hill, Sprewell)

PGs:
Harper - on the same level as Rivers, but had more shelf life; more of a combo guard
Rivers - cool, calm... but didn't have the longevity - Intense leader
Childs - Not too far off from Rivers/Harper - arguably a tougher on-the-ball defender than either, with more boneheaded decisions than either; clutch shooter. Very ****y.
Mark Jackson - excellent with Pitino; was unfairly bashed following that; only 2 great seasons as a Knick; overall, he's the #2 assist man in the history of the game.
Strickland - never had a chance to show it all as a Knick - The best overall offensive weapon of the group (though carries a headcase label)
Charlie Ward - journeyman PG--- never had complete reign over the PG spot. The best help defender of the group, great at drawing offensive fouls
Greg Anthony - never had a chance to take control. Poor outside shot, excellent drives to the basket but poor finisher. Excellent overall defender; would rate much higher if he actually drained some of his layups!

I think Penny's role as sixth man can be similar to when Starks backed up Houston. He can come in, play Defense and do a little of everything. Starks was a spark off the bench though.

I liked RORY SPARROW
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
