This was a rehash from a Berman Article last week. A move like this makes little sense and I would doubt it would happen (unless in a package for CA) ....last I checked Gallo was an outside shooting big.

My first question is why in the world do we need another big (we have Amare, Turiaf, Gallo, Randolph, Curry, Jordan, and the Russian kid)? My second question is, if we need another big that can shot, why not resign Earl Barron for cheap. Why in the world would you trade Chandler for most likely a garage big man.

Yeah the whole thing makes no sense. Plus it has to be a one year contract to make sure we keep flexibility. I guess this one is bogus.

Yeah, what happened to Earl? I bet we still sign him as I have a feeling there is going to be a trade. Earl was too polished and could be used as a backup here, if not starter until Randolph is set.

We have Patrick Ewing Jr just waiting for someone to sign him on our SL squad. His shooting improved supposedly. What's the point in trading Chandler for someone that's a dime in a dozen, when you can go for a shooting guard instead? I don't know who's available, but this is my thinking at least.

Rehashing Bermans arbitrary speculations is never a good call

just because you have a press pass does not make you a journalist

oherwise Berman would have had some skinny on Moscov in May

He didn't

If he were a player Berman would be labellled as "lacking effort" slow to react to defenses or worse... Just plain "lazy"

I believe we are targeting Rudy Fernandez.

There have been a couple of comments made recently that lead me to believe a handshake agreement is already in place.

- first Walsh said -- we'll still look at trade options over the next couple of weeks
- yesterday during summer league broadcast Crispino said "the Knicks are not done and are looking at trades"
- today Donnie said something along the lines of -- we are starting to get the right pieces in place - the guys we've added all bring a defensive mindset with them -- he threw in - and we've never had a prototypical 2G.

Add in the fact that you are NOT hearing any rumors surrounding Rudy Fernandez right now. I think he and his agent know a trade is in place and we are waiting for Portland to find a replacement for Rudy at the 2G. That would be Wes Matthews.

It's possible a deal of Chandler for Rudy could go down --- hopefully we might also pick up another BIG that defend or a 1st round pick.

Maybe he is just talking about Azubuike.

Pretty retarded article, especially when Chandler usually plays the 4 position.

Who would they trade him for? Radmanovic?

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I'd rather trade him for a prototypical SG or pick... I want no part in swapping him for the channing Fryes or Michael DOleacs of the world

I think Walsh was talking about Azubuike too, when he made the comments about never having a proper 2. I think I also read that there were trade rumours about Fernandez to another team, though I forget which, so don't get your hopes up! I'm not too sure about him anymore anyways- his first year was impressive, but he took a step back last year and that may be due to his back injury/problem- no idea if it might be an ongoing problem. Plus he started whining and moaning about not getting enough shots etc. I wouldn't trade Wilson Chandler for him, as I don't think Fernandez stock is particularly high right now (he's threatening to sign back in Europe if he doesn't get traded to a team he likes- though we're one of them!).

That said I think Walsh is looking into making a minor trade over the next few days, as he's not going to Las Vegas, or maybe he'll sign Earl Barron. We definitely are short on shooters though.
