The Suns are closing in on acquiring Hedo Turkoglu in a trade with Toronto.

Phoenix would send Leandro Barbosa and Dwayne Jones to the Raptors for Turkoglu.

The Raptors would then move Jones and the traded player exception acquired in the Chris Bosh trade for Boris Diaw.

The Suns must use $6.5 million of the trade exception from the Knicks in the Amar'e Stoudemire trade to acquire Childress from Atlanta.

That's pretty meh for the Raptors if you ask me.

First they do well by trading Turkoglu for a shorter deal, then they bring back similar garbage with a long deal in Diaw.

Plus they're trying to re-create a homeless mans Suns team.

I think Colangelo won this deal. I don't think Turkeyglue's value is that high

Not to mention, I don't understand the point for Phoenix. Nash/Hill/Turkeyglue is overkill, unless this is a legacy plan

I don't know what PHO is doing over there. I really liked watching their team this playoffs and Amare was the key to the whole thing (and Nash of course). Starting with the pick-n-roll, which was devastating and focused and Nash's/Amare's strengths, it allowed Lopez, Richardson, Hill to play perfect complimentary roles around them.

Owner wouldn't spend ~$17M a year on Amare but will go out and spend that same amount on Warrick and Hedo? I guess there is the injury risk but don't Hedo and Nash not co-exist the same way Hedo and Jose don't co-exist?

I don't know what the Suns kicked to the Hawks for Childress, but I really do like that acquisition. He "plays the right way"

Do the suns even have a big man to run the pick an roll, and should they even be mention as a playoff contender now that 60% (amare) of the team is no longer there..

I know they had some success with out him (2005) but they also had a better team around nash

Earl Clark is on the bench (drafted last year) but I have no idea what his game is.

Seems like a smart deal for Phoenix and everyone else. Phoenix gets another ball handler since Nash isn't going to be able to play major minutes forever. Toronto dumps salary. Charlotte dumps salary.

he's an odom type. he's 6'10 with guard skills, good handle, can shoot the ball, plays good defensively. unfortunately, he shares another trait with odom - he only plays when he wants to.

I really thought he would be better and could be one of the real steals in that draft.

Why do I get the feeing Nash to lakers if FIsh to Miami?

Unless Sarver holds Nash to his contract as the face of the franchise?

Suns haven't made great moves this summer - but they've spent a TON of money:

Warrick 4yrs $18M
Frye 5yrs $30M
Hedo 4yrs $45M
Childress 5yrs $35M

other than Frye, all kinda redundant players, methinks.
