has anyone set race relations in the US back more than this guy? Geeze. How much did the Cavs pay Lebron over 7 years? $80mm?

Slave indeed

yeah. It was customary to punish runways by posting harsh words on the internet.

Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...

I can't think of anyone that has individually set back race relations more than he and Al Sharpton have. He is always looking for an opporotunity to get in the newspaper or do some sort of photo-op.

This is so beyond ridiculous, that there's nothing to really say about it. Who knew slavery was still going on... in the north for that matter? Maybe he failed history.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Lebron James was not only criticized for leaving the fans who'd been so loyal to him over the past seven years, but was also described as a narcissist for making his decision on a nationally televised special.

Most of the criticism is uncalled for, but it won't matter. At this point, James has paid a huge price for his freedom, and the only way to truly redeem himself would be to win a championship. One can argue, however, that the championship pressure was going to be high no matter where he decided to play. The difference is that by coming to Miami, he's got a good chance to win his title. Through the years, most NBA fans have been astonished that James could make a mediocre team so stellar, and this is why everyone wants him. In fact, as the comedian Katt Williams might agree: The fact that LeBron James has so many haters is what reminds us that his impact is undeniable.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Lebron's decision to leave Cleveland to make millions playing elsewhere & compete for championships has no correlation whatsoever to him being a runaway slave. the criticism he's getting is besides the point. the only slaves in this entire scenario were the franchises & fans that were held hostage by this narcissistic individual for the past 2 years.

What was incredible was just how "golden" Lebron has been. HIs brand has been strong.

"the decision" has been his only mistep and he can do a show called "the Reflection" and can apologize for his egocentric manner by which he so denied his cleveland fans an chance to say good bye to him.

Isn't that Cleveland is so mad? He left before they could say good bye?

Maybe MIke Vicks birthday party organizers can get together with Mav Carter and they can sell tickets to have a proper "good luck" farwell party for Lebron! IM sure that would good well.

Special guests can include his DWayne "My kids come first" Wade, Chris "im a superstar" Bosh and Carlos "Blind Sided" Boozer with a special appearence by Gordan Gund!!!! Booze can walk the Blind Gund out on stage and right into a "Hole". Kind of like when he led him into redoing his contract!!!! I think Gund is dead now, but an actor to depict.

Jesse Jackson can then Narrate Lebrons escape (goat included)thru the underground railroad that went thru Greenwich, Ct and all the way to Miami where anohter plantation owner, Pat Riley underpay him! When he hands him the keys to the franchise and does not tell him the locks were changed he has him arrested and Lebron challanges the cop to charges of discrimination!!! Then Dan GIlbert takes off his fake cop uniform and they all just have a good laugh!!!!! Jesse will be the final speaking act

Lebron had every right to leave Cleveland and play wherever he wanted. He also had every right to have a 1 hour special and handle the free-agency however he wanted. No one denied him these rights. But people also have the right to react however they wanted as well. If people don't like the way Lebron handled it they have every right to voice their opinion and criticize him for it. If Gilbert feels wronged by Lebron he has every right to voice his opinion just like Lebron has every right to respond. It's a ridiculous point that Jackson is making
I just hope that people will like me

if Lebron wanted to leave, he should have handled it the way KG handled his situation in Minny... go to the owner & let him know he'd like to go compete for championships elsewhere so that the franchise can work out some kind of trade to get some reasonable value in return... what Lebron did was basically threaten to leave if they couldn't put together a championship roster around him... & during the entire time that the franchise was exhausting every possible means & doing whatever it could to accomodate him and his entourage of cling-ons, his marketing team started on a 2 year long flirtation with other teams until they all gutted their rosters to make room for him & a FA of his choice... coincidentally, most of those teams play in the same conference as the team that he, D Wade & Bosh just signed with... convenient way to keep those teams from improving their rosters the past couple years by holding them hostage not so subtle hints that they'd be coming to play for them in 2010, no?

these are not the actions of a slave... these are the actions of a narcissistic & spoiled primadonna.

Jesse only saw Lebrons action as one sided.

If Jesse saw the big picture he would see just how powerful Lebron James has become.

Jesse should marvel over the economoic might Lebron yields.

Maybe Jesse should be critical of Lebron for exibiting demonstrative egocentric behavior?

Why has anyone set a dollar figure on what the Boys and Girls Club got from "the Decision"?

If IM lebron, I issue a statement: "while it might have been in bad taste and I hurt some peoples feelings, Im sorry for that. It did generate $$$$$$$$ for the Club and for that I can never be be sorry for".

Also put out a full page letter the very next morning thanking cleveland for the support and years of happiness!!!!!

I can only guess there are 100 other ways to have done better.

Yeah, it was handled bad.
