Amare's business partner wrote on twitter last night, while attending Carmelo's pre-wedding party "CARMELO WILL BE A KNICK I SAID IT FIRST"

Also BT says he has an "impeccable source" claiming the Knicks will be shocked if Melo is not in our starting lineup THIS fall....

lets see!

I'm calling for a moratorium on star worship. So now Carmelo is going to be the guy who comes in the Garden in a visitors' jersey that gets more love than our own squad?

Everyone is calling the Heat bitches and queens and yet we seem way too eager to put on our orange and blue kneepads for a savior.

Word idle worship...

It would be good to get him but he would also push out Gallo....hopefully Randolph and Gallo can't bring the pain. Might not need melo

I want Melo, but not at the cost of losing Gallo. I think if we get Melo in a S&T it means AR will be heading out the door.

It will be Gallo and Chandler with no upcoming draft picks either. Particularly Gallo since he plays the same position and it will fill the Nuggets immediately need. If you want Melo this fall that is more than a reasonable price.

I'm not sure if we would trade Gallo or Randolph, but if I'm the Nugs and Melo is not signing an extension, I strongly consider Curry, Chandler and either Gallo or Randolph for Melo right now. Cap space+ two quality youngsters is the best they can find right now.

I believe that is what it will cost you. They aren't looking for cap space by the way. What are they going to use it on? Trying to get Melo back? Deron Williams is talking about extensions and I don't know if they are thinking about going after Paul. They will be looking at taking serious talent back or letting him walk and maybe working out a S&T after the fact in the off-season just like Cleveland and Toronto just did.

I don't see Denver trading him to us this off season. Maybe at the deadline, but Denver has all the leverage because of the damned ending of the CBA- if he doesn't sign an extention with them this season he is going to lose a lot of money. But I agree, I wouldn't like to lose Gallo if we traded for him- Carmelo really likes him and I think they'd be great team mates. But then looking at our roster, it's hard to see how they could start together unless you slide Gallo to the 4 (there goes the rebounding), and Amar'e to the 5 (but he's not keen on playing at the centre spot for more than 15mins a game), and have randolph off the bench at the 4 and 5. It would be nice if we could just sign him outright next offseason, and if it was any other year we'd have a great shot, but the impending lockout really screws us with regards to signing free agents next year.

Anyway, don't pin all your hopes on getting him- we've already seen what can happen when you get your hopes too high on a player coming to save you!

Man, I would love to hold onto either Gallo or Randolph and acquire Melo but come on... I'd give up either, plus either Chandler or Douglas, and Curry and not even think twice about it. If that's all the Knicks have to give up for him that's awesome. You have to give some thing sup to get the best scorer in the game. Let's just say it is Gallo and Chandler:

Felton
???
Melo
Randolph
Amare

maybe then you consider CDesai's idea of adding Josh Howard on a one year flyer, or get into a foot race for Mike Miller. That team is easily better than Miami's Sorority

I don't want to give up Gallo if giving up Randolph, Chandler, curry will do it then Fine. Randolph is an unknown quantity to me, and Melo is definitely a greta player. But Gallo is true Knick and I love his heart and his willingness to do different thinks in order to make the Knicks better. Plus he has lots of upside, I am not giving up on him, stiff legs and all.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

I don't want to make it sound like I am either but Melo is the best scorer in the league. You have to give to get (unless you're the Lakers or the Celtics... then you just get)

this is the same guy we all called a punkass a couple years ago for sucker punching Mardy Collins, & now everyone's gonna be kissing his ass from here til next summer hoping he comes to save our franchise.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
