Morrow agrees to offer sheet with Nets
By Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo! Sports

Restricted free-agent guard Anthony Morrow(notes) has reached agreement on a three-year, $12 million offer sheet with the New Jersey Nets, league sources told Yahoo! Sports on Friday night.

The Golden State Warriors aren’t expected to match the offer, a league source said. They have seven days to make a decision after Morrow officially signs the sheet.

After missing out on several higher-profile free agents, including Carlos Boozer(notes) (Chicago) and Tyrus Thomas(notes) (Charlotte) in the past two days, the Nets made an aggressive pitch for Morrow, a sharpshooting and athletic guard. Morrow, 24, averaged 13 points for Golden State last season. Undrafted out of Georgia Tech in 2008, Morrow has made an impressive rise with the Warriors the past two seasons.

With the franchise in financial flux because of an impending sale and having just committed $80 million to forward David Lee(notes), the Warriors aren’t expected to spend to keep Morrow.

Nice pick-up for them- that team is in dire need of some snipers.

Yea. That's a really good job by Nets. Dude shot 45% from 3 this past season.

That was cheap for a good young player who can really shoot it. Nets are building a nice team there--they will be much improved and competitive.

This was a good signing for the Nets but I am not sure what they are doing. Unless they feel like their team is set with Lopez, Harris, and Favors as a big three they really needed to sign a marquee vet with some of their cap space. They have always been smart and cherry picked the best player available for the best contract. They have a good team but they had an opportunity to make themselves a top team in the east if they could have gotten a marquee free agent. I think they targeted Rudy Gay and did not have a plan after that.

I think they may go after Scola and try to frontload it so Rockets wouldn't match it.

Going after Scola would be very smart. It is a net type move.

Remember Briggs was suggesting throwing like $20-30mil to this kid? $12mil was all it took.

That's a steal. I'm surprised GS isn't matching.
