I've seen alot of discussions comparing marbury and kidd.
While Kidd is definately better than marbury right now, anyone think its possible that marbury will b the best? Im gonna say that in about 4 years, kidd will b on a decline (i think hell b 35 by then) and marbury will b close to his peak at 30. Im assuming at that time, marbury could possibly b the best pg in the league.

BTW, for all purposes of this post, I'm considering Lebron as more of a shooting guard than a point guard,

good point, that very well might happen, marbs has the potential to be the best... hes more physically talented than kidd imo kidd just has another level of seeing the court and leadership... but in terms of quickness and physical ability marbs is right next to Iverson

Hopefully Marbury will become an even better leader than Kidd under Zeke & Lenny's tutelage.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I think Stephon is better than Baron. Baron got off to a great start but hasn't been nearly as good as steph.

marbury is a FANTASTIC point guard. unfortunately he has very few other guys on this team who can run with him.

Not sure I'd say Marbury was number 2 - but he's up there.

As far as the Future - there's a kid in Cleveland I hear may turn into a pretty good player.

He may become a two. I would never do it though. He's a great passer who is physically a mismatch for a point guard to defend. As long as he can play decent D against 1's I'd definetely leave him at the point with a big two and let the other teams try to figure out how to handle it.

I've always thought steph was the best point guard in the league, since his new jersey days. Even though they were losing Steph did more than kidd can do plus he can shoot the ball with consistency, something Kidd cant always do. Kidd lucked out when he came to jersey because by the time he got there everybody was healthy and he had a couple of good rooks to accompany him. It was then that everyone labeled kidd the best pg, but real basketball fans know better.

i agree plus the fact that Steph never took playing in NJ seriously. Now he's in NY he will do whatever it takes for his favorite team to win.

Oh come on... Marbury played really hard in NJ. It's just that injuries killed that team. Marbury's giant cranium ended Jayson Williams's career. Jaime Feick was awesome until he ruptured his achilles. Kerry Kittles was complete-player version of Reggie Miller until his knee gave up. KVH had his ankle/thumb moments. Gill broke down.

They talked about Marbury playing the 2... I can't even remember what crappy PG was supposed to running the show!

Anyway-- I think it's tough to say Marbury is is more physically talented than Kidd. Kidd's an athletic freak-- he's big, thick, and powerful for a PG yet still possesses amazing quickness-- he can play at different speeds.

Marbury is your more prototypical athlete. Strong, lean, quick, athletic. He's more gifted than, let's say... Sam Cassell, but has only begun learning how to change speeds to his approach since joining the Suns-- which is ironically where Cassell got his first big break. Just because you have the speed doesn't mean you need to play fast all the time. (IMHO, Cassell gets my nod as the #2 PG in the NBA right now)

Ironically... Marbury only needs to play on the Rockets to be on every team Cassell has been on (Marbury was technically drafted by the Bucks...).
