Spurs will let him go at the perfect time, and we'd buy him at the worst time of his career, when he is still expensive yet about to decline...
I agree with you. Parker isn't what this team needs. I'd rather go with Collison or stick with Douglas than adding Parker who I think is on the decline. CP3 would be so ideal he makes everyone better and instantly pairing Amare with CP3 make the Knicks a contender. I was totally against this one but I am willing to think about Arenas, no maybe not.
Parker just turned 28. Why do you think he is in decline? He did get the injury bug this year... but it's not a trend.
He has a good 10 year career in him already. I think he peaked year before last and he is coming down. I never thought of Parker as a PG that could rack up assists. I don't think he ever average 7 assists per game. I think he fits that SA system will have trouble fitting into a fast paced system. I truly believe that Douglas can give you the numbers that Parker gives.
i don't know... you aren't really showing me much here.
Kobe is 31... are you saying that he peaked at 28 and declined? Super athlete no doubt but same situation.
Also, how can you say that Parker peaked year before last when he was injured last year? That's not a trend just situational.
Parker doesn't rack up assists because of the type of system Spurs employ. Slow, half court.
Douglas may not be ready to take full time PG duties, I hope he can though.
