can someone with basketball smarts give me a layman's scouting report on randolph.

i see an athletic, running big man, does he have an outside shot? does he block shots? is he tough? who does he profile to be, a comp?

I see Gallo playing C and Randolph SF with Amare playing PF but depending on match up they can switch it up on defense...

Which works for the D'Antoni run and gun offense. Quick long and high energy big men who can finish and get back on defense before the team picks up the ball to in bound it.

Gallo and Randolph will both get stronger, and their length will compensate a bit for their lack of strength at this point. Randolph also has to learn to play smart and under control, and do it consistently. I am also worried about him hitting the floor as often as he does.

What we really have to hope for is that we can keep these guys with us for the next 10 year. If we have them together 4 or 5 years from now and they have progressed like they should, we will have a pretty murderous pair of guys playing for us who will cause all kinds of matchup problems with other teams.

We really do need a good PG for both of these guys to be at their best. Don't know if Douglas can do it, but we really need someone to get the most out of Gallo and Randolph.

thing is.. amar'e is going to defend the opposign teams best frontcourt player while AR is going to play help defense and block shots. we already know gallo has the cajones(sorry fish) to go up guys like melo and actually do a good job.. i don't think it's a big deal.
