myself and tms were one of the only ones who saw this day comming
what was the point of that trade
now we dont have tradeable assets like jordan hill, a high 2011 draft pick, and 2012 pick
these assets could have been used to lure rubio, paul, carmello
some posters said the tmac trade gave us flexibility..dont you think if we didnt make that trade we'd have more flexibility..

You were the only one who saw it coming? Read back.

A lot of posters, including myself thought it was a bad trade.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Without the trade we were never in the 2010 FA conversation. Never. Not a chance. Wouldn't even have Amare right now. Nobody.

Stop second guessing it.

Our pick is swappable with rockets,

Our 2012 should not be all that high.

And JHill is now Randloph.

Its gonna be ok.

Somtimes you gotta go for it. We did.

Im ok with it.

Get over yourself. A lot of us said it was wrong and bad. It was wrong and bad and that is the end of it.

Admit it you were wrong. Stop trying to pretend you were not. Wouldn't even have Amare? Oh noooooooooo!

Nobody is happy right now. "OMG I so called this disaster!" isn't going to make anyone feel better.

Who was wrong? No one was yet. Nothing to pretend.

Without the trade we don't get Amare, we don't get to S&T Lee for who some think is a promising package.

You don't get any shot at getting Amare and LBJ or Bosh and LBJ or Amare and Wade... etc. You get nobody because you couldn't sell a single FA to come here on their own without promise of either adding a second premier FA with them - or building a team around them.

So, think about that.

Without the trade we got the same team we had last year.

That was fun, right?

With the trade we got a top PF, again to some a promising package from GSW (I don't know about it yet), and still plenty of space to make more trades and signings in the coming days and weeks.

WITHOUT the trade? Nothing, nada, zippo.

The trade was a no-brainer then and a no-brainer now. To have not made it?

The same people bashing it would be bashing NOT making it now saying "Oh, look, Miami got all 3, Chicago got Amare, we got NOTHING because WALSH had no balls to clear cap space!"

So, well, ya know........

Maybe give it a bit more time this summer before giving the "WE TOLD YOU SO" bit? Yeah, I think some fans should.

I hated the trade when it was speculated, when it happened and I have written about it since the beginning of February. I am fine if you want to come out and say, I knew this was a bad trade but to discount people on this forum who were against it before it happened and trashed it from day one doesn't make any sense. I had trouble sleeping when this trade was discussed. During the year I have to get up at six and I couldn't get away from this forum until one in the morning because this trade upset me so much. Say you were against it but don't pat yourself on the back and act like you were the only person that didn't know this trade made no sense and would send the team back for years. Buy some more msg stock and boast about that.

Love the trade. Would do it agaid in a heartbeat. Gives us great flexibility this year which is already reaping dividends with AR and hopefully will bring in even more. We lost nothing whatsoever in that trade. We would have had to sell our first rounderthis year anyway to have one max cap room and I'm not concerned about Jordan "Kwame" Hill.

Didnt mind the trade hated the inclusion of the picks. We need to at least try to sneak into the playoffs and that is going to be difficult with no PG.

Still a long way to go. Jordan Hill had to be moved- I wish we didn't do all the stuff with the picks (we can't keep giving those up), but hopefully our bet works out better now. I think we need to see who we slot in with this money.

Will you still love the trade when the Knicks don't win even 40 games again? And probably again again?

We might have come away with Amare, but I absolutely agree with the move. We put ourselves in position to make a splash in this FA class. We didn't come away with the prize, but I absolutely support Donnie for trying.

For the record, I was/am a Hill supporter, but he is not the end all. We took a shot and it back fired. Sometimes you just lose out. Time to go forward with plan B and look forward to some exciting basketball. Right now, all I want to see is a couple HARD fouls on LeBron in our first match with Miami...I don't care if it's preseason.

By the way, I never wanted Hill, I thought the Knicks blew it big-time by not drafting Brandon Jennings. It was still a bad trade.

Tell me again why the Knicks could not have signed Amare Stoudemire without trading Hill and swapping picks and trading another first round pick? Do you realize that these picks don't have much protection? And what makes you think the pick would be mid-first round?

Oh boy Anthony Randolph and Turiaf! The Knicks are surely on their way now!

I think you have your answer.

Hey look, I respect your opinion. The world needs it's pessimists. I however choose not to see it that way. And that's not the same as wear rose-tinted glasses. The deal Walsh has made are diametrically opposite to the type of deals we were making before he showed up. Solid, hardworking players or young explosive talent instead of flashy tweeners and heavy centers. Sure if you want you can weep and moan and convince yourself that it will all go to hell in a handbasket when Amare goes blind, AR breaks his arm, Gallo stiffens up, KA breaks his ankle and Turiaf ends up in the OR again but I choose to see this team as potentially very good.

It's easy to complain about every little thing and it's your right to do so. But I have to say oohah that you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel to complain about the position were in right now. A few years ago our cap was over 100 mill and a good off season for us was Zach Randolph. We just picked up 3 cheap young talented players and a 6 time all-star. Your starting to run out of things to moan about methinks. Bizatching about losing a first rounder and Jordan Hill is just bizatching for bizatchings sake.

Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and ask why not?
