What I take away from this

A. The Knicks plan to eliminate cap for the past two years was based on very little concrete evidence that anything could/would occur with the major players of FA. They can't cry after the fact but they need to move on quickly. We horsefcked the Jordan Hill trade and we didnt handle the last 2 drafts very well. You can say we tried to hit a home run but the bottom line is we are back to the drawing board needing to improve the team.

B. Someone from the Knicks management had a very big mouth the last week{spike Lee etc..)--maybe to drive ticket sales-- maybe somehow convince a 25 year old male icon what he should do with his life--well whatever--did not happen was never happening--but they did snicker some folks--you know what the rest of the NBA says about the Knicks--just another FU in their 10 years of FU's. No one cares.
The C's have a big 3 The Lakers have a Big 5 so the Heat now have a big 3--too bad. I think Yankee fans should be the first not to whine.

C. Knicks are on the clock here--no time to cry--they better start executing from Walsh to MDA--there is always a bottom line in business--there is no 4th place--either you got it done or you did not--thats the bottom line.

I'll wait until I hear for certain that Lebron isn't coming. But if/when I do hear that, I will agree with everything you wrote, Briggs.

seems to me Walsh has been extremely active as far as plan B goes. If you believe what you read about Lebron not coming why wouldnt you believe what you read about Walsh having 3 possible sign and trades on the table for Lee including a deal to get your guy Anthony Randolph?

Walsh said on the FAN today that even if the Knicks didnt get Lebron there were a tons of options to improve the team and that the Knicks would be good.

If the Knicks pull off getting Randolph and any combo of players I will be very excited.

We didn't need to get under the cap to do S & Ts involving Lee

LOL

well I bought at $20.40 and was planning on selling at today's COB rally...

oh well

now I just have to be patient and close out my position when there's other good news surrounding the team.

sucks because I want to buy and hold some Citi and would like to do that sooner than later

This is so much hype it is ridiculous.
As a Knick fan, if he goes anywhere else but NY or stays in Cleveland, he has alienated me. If it is Miami like is being reported or Chicago, which I still give a shot too, then NY Knicks fans will absolutely HATE him.

I will agree going to Miami as Wade's B#$$ch, would be a weak move.

My 2 cents.

Knicks haven't won a championship in over 30yrs. They are justified the moves they did to try and land the best player in the NBA.

The last 2 yrs are over with and forgotten, we have Amare Stoudemire, Lee as a SnT asset, Curry as an expiring contract, a boat load of money to get another free agent, young prospects like Gallo, Chandler, TD, Walker to either develop or use as nice trade pieces.

We have flexibility to do many different things to build a quality team which we haven't had in a long time.

I don't think so - I think if he goes to Miami he'll be the villain. A lot of people will hate him.

I actually think he might stay in Cleveland at this rate. Every other move is too risky for his image. Which is what he cares about most.

NYers will hate him, its just the way we are. Unless he stays in Cleveland.

The bottom line is that at least we had a chance. DW has done a great job in giving the team flexibility. Yes, perhaps there was a misstep or two along the way made due to the idea of getting LBj but overall, the Knicks are on an upswing.

To me, if Gallo is what we think he can be, then NY has 2 stars now. All they need is to make some smart moves. Lee for Randolph is a real good move next. If they can get a shooting guard who can defend and shoot it a little, then all of a sudden, the big 3 do not look so formidable.

Amare is already > Bosh.

Add a Paul/Okafor or Parker/Randolph then this team is up there...and I will take NY heart over Miami fluff.

If LBJ is afraid to go out on his own and make his way in NY, he is not the type of player NY needs. I will agree with Dolan and DW on that one. ANd make sure that if he opts out in 3 years with no RINGS, then I would say No Thanks to the next round of FA hype.

For what it's worth Briggs - you almost had me believing he was coming, and I wanted to believe.

I think the Knicks will land on their feet. I am glad we got Amare and there are some interesting possibilities next year.

What will be interesting next year and going forward is that the #6 and #7 seeds will be more valuable than the #4 and #5 seeds. Why? Because it prolongs when you might run into LeBron's (not Wade's) Miami Heat.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
