Dime Exclusive: Boozer says LeBron is “50 percent Miami, 50 percent New York”
By Austin Burton

The newest Chicago Bull, Carlos Boozer, told a source of mine earlier today that LeBron James is “50 percent Miami, 50 percent New York.”

It didn't take long for the newest Bulls player to get in on the recruiting pitch for LeBron James. Shortly after agreeing to sign with Chicago, Carlos Boozer said he texted the prize of the free-agent market and made his pitch.

James' response?

"He was weighing between a few different teams, and he [texted he] would make a decision [Thursday night]," Boozer said Thursday on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "He didn't give me too much more juice than that. All of us basketball fans, players and non-players, will be watching that show [Thursday night]. If he comes we'll be so excited. We want to welcome him with open arms, but if he chooses to go someplace else this team will be ready to play."

James will announce his decision during a special at 9 p.m. ET Thursday on ESPN. ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard reported that James is leaning toward signing with the Miami Heat, according to several sources with knowledge of the situation.

Boozer, who agreed to a five-year deal worth between $75 million and $80 million Wednesday, said he won't give up hope on James joining the Bulls, who still have cap room to sign a player to a max contract, until the announcement is made.

"I think there is a chance until it's done," Boozer said. "Until he decides where he is going to go, I think we have a chance to get him in a Bulls uniform. I'm going to text him again [Thursday] morning and see what his reply might be.

"I tell you one thing, if we get him we can rival one of the best teams of all time and have championship after championship. If we don't get him, then we'll bring it to him."

Interesting.

The Knicks seem to be much more in the mix when you hear things coming from active NBA players.

Okay, we've had a nice run with the LeBron to Miami rumors. Shall we herd the cattle in another direction now, and make 'em think it's New York again? Maybe we can get MSG's stock to pop again!

Obviously everybody has their opinions and guesses on what LeBron will announce later tonight, but as one of the prime free agents on the market this summer and LeBron’s former teammate in Cleveland and on two U.S. Olympic teams, Boozer may be one of the few people who’s actually heard from LeBron himself leading up to the announcement.

Yesterday Boozer agreed to a five-year, $80 million deal with the Bulls, one of the teams that was still believed to be in the mix for LeBron. The Bulls reportedly left enough room under the cap to sign both Boozer and LeBron, but with this latest development, it looks like they’re definitely out of the running. It’s also bad news for the Nets, who were also talking to Boozer up until yesterday and just reached an agreement with small forward Travis Outlaw.

I understand that, I'm just reading the quotes:

James' response?

"He was weighing between a few different teams, and he [texted he] would make a decision [Thursday night]," Boozer said Thursday on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "I tell you one thing, if we get him we can rival one of the best teams of all time and have championship after championship. If we don't get him, then we'll bring it to him."

No mention of Knicks or Miami.

Its booze's interpretation of what Lebron said.

Someone is gonna turn on Lebron and get real on this clown act.

This sucking up to lebron by players is crap. They used to suck it up to Mike and he would let you go along but then cut your throat on the court. Lebron gives you chaulk and a you can run around say your "friends".

Ali and Frazier hated each other.

Lebron wants too much Love!

Seems like the Journalist interjected himself into the article. No where does Boozer or Lebron say anything about Miami or NY.

No, it's the author's interpretation of what Boozer told his "source". Boozer mentions no team but the Bulls.
