I want to commend AMARE for being a man about how he handled everything... While all these guys were holding each others hand Amare stepped up and decided to do something that none of these guys seem like they can do... have the balls to commit somewhere and see were it goes from there! WELCOME TO THE BIG STAGE AMARE !!! you will be loved in ny !!! we love people that work hard and not ride others to victory... this will be what seperates mj from lbj I hate micheal but the man never would have thought about anything like this....

I mean Amar'e wanted 6 years from the Suns where he wanted to stay but they basically said GTFO and he did. NY said well we got money and Amar'e said well I take some of that money. I mean to call it something other than that would be misleading.

Amare agreed to a sign and trade with the Suns that does not benefit him at all but helps the Knicks gain cap space and a 2nd round pick. He has been more than a stand up guy so far.

Don't get me wrong. He went about it right but he still got a lot of the money he was looking for to begin with. The S&T though is a touch of class by him when he didn't have to do it.

dude ... all of these guys are looking at alot of money but look at the difference that pansy bosh handled stuff compared to the way amare did.. Miami should save the paper and bosh and wade should just sign the same piece of paper because they are inseperable now maybe lebron will be joining the lovefest this summer is going to change free agency because there is now way the owners are going to let collusion like this happen ever again

A real stand up guy. Getting $99.2 MM instead of $100MM. Amare took the first max deal he was offered. He has an injury history and was taking care of himself. Everyone says all the right things when they first sign. Let's not give Amare too much credit yet.

I don't know. If you remember he was also trying to recruit folks before he signed. Would he have been willing to sacrifice a few million to build a better team? Is that what he was trying to do?

He makes out fine financially, but I've liked him so far, and I can't say that I was the biggest fan of him coming here.

Watching the Amar'e introduction press conference right now. Dolan is awful but nice shot at LBJ about courage to play in NY and to be the first to do so. ESPN is too busy breaking down LBJ 'Decision' to worry about the Knicks signing. How can you call yourself the leaders in sports. smh.
