The LBJ to MIA story started with Newsday. Espn actually followed the Newsday story. First the Newsday story was pretty much saying LBJ was a lock to MIA. Then they softened it to "leaning towards MIA". My question is, doesn't Dolan own Newsday? Is it a smokescreen? There are a lot of stories floating around this morning.

i was honestly thinking that when i saw hahn broke the story, but i dunno... the fact that broussard picked up on it and is reporting gives us hope though because the dude sucks.

i don't understand the point of a smokescreen like this so late in the game.

i think it's over. there have been whispers that lebron never even considered the knicks seriously and we all ignored them because they weren't what we wanted to hear.

there's a very real chance he doesn't want to come here. we just have to face it. he doesn't have the courage to go against public perception and join the knicks.

move on, guys. donnie gave it a good shot. but it's not going to happen.

I agree with your take on Lebron possibly not being interested.

As far as a smokescreen - I don't see the purpose from MSG, but Lebron and Co want everybody on edge until tonight.

Its a bit like pro wrestling- highly staged and theatrical.

Thelo,

Good point. The Deception has been extreme. The process seems to be moving momentum from one team to another.

Lebron wants to amaze.

It has to be high drama.

Thus, the last rumor of "miami" is wrong.

It could just as well be Chicago is now the front runner.

If Knicks are in the know it could be lebrons request that the drama stay pure and the only way to do it is to keep the media going in differnt directions.

Lebron was in new york last week. This much we know. The announcement in Greenwich has not been given a reason and is baffling.

We know nothing and I'd be suprised if its Miami. Why? Cuz thats not drama.

I agree that its smoke. It seems curious that none of the writers from Miami picked it up

Bron's people probably told Riley it's not even wroth thinking about if they don't have capspace and Riles has been working the phones to death to setup a trade in the event Lebron chooses Miami.

Could be nothing more than due diligence.

I think the Knicks found out that LeBron is going to Miami and this is a last ditch effort to force LeBron to pick the Knicks. The negative publicity LeBron is getting on the news that he is going to Miami is pretty bad. He is being portrayed as gutless and is being kicked off the perch as best player in the world.

Surely LeBron has made up his mind by now where he's going? He can't be planning to wait until the last minute to decide.... Can he?

Thelonious, I knew you could think of one brilliant corner. maybe we'll be toasting LeBron 'round midnight.

If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

I could see some wavering, but unless he doesn't know what he wants, then, yea, he should have made up his mind a while ago.
