Apparently no. The Knicks will have to renounce him to sign Lebron. I was confused about whether Lee could even be move with a S&T but I keep forgetting about his cap hold.

I think that would be great. Lee is a glue player anyteam can benefit with. Briggy, what do you think of the GSW talk with Anthony and others coming in sign and trade if the big guy don't come?

There isn't anyway you can keep him. We don't have the cap space for two maxes untill his rights are renounced. The only way you can keep him is by dumping Curry's contract for cap space which is basically impossible- even if you gave away Wilson Chandler along with him.

Or he accepts a minimum contract to win a chip after we renounce his rights.

It would work if he came to a verbal agreement to sign for the 2 mil left over after the max contract to Lebron. We could then offer him a very large salary (max even) with only a minimal 3 million cap hold next year when we go after Carmelo. We would retain his bird rights which allows us to go over the cap for whatever contract we want to give him after next season. He would really have to trust and love the team to hook us up that much. It would even out in the long run if next year's contract is more than market value.
