Holy crap, I'm more excited about this than I am about LeBron.

Randolph and Amare would be a nasty combo down low in a speed-ball offense.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Depends on how much Lee costs. Definitely see why they'd do it. Keeping Monta a plus @Marty2634 Would acquiring Lee be a good addition?

Would you like the Warriors acquiring David Lee if they could also keep guard Monta Ellis?

That is a distinct possibility depending on LeBron James’ decision tomorrow. Multiple sources told me the Warriors have an offer on the table that sends forward Anthony Randolph and other pieces to New York in a sign-and-trade deal for Lee.

If LeBron announces he is going to New York, in order to make room for his max contract, the Knicks would have to renounce Lee to free up the cap space. That would end the sign-and-trade possibility and the Warriors’ chances at Lee. But if LeBron doesn’t say the Knicks when he announces his decision …

… Then the Warriors are “in the game” for Lee. One source said the Knicks have at least three sign-and-trade offers on the table in case LeBron opts to play elsewhere. But the Warriors like their chances, considering Randolph is a hot commodity. I have not confirmed who the other players are, but the obvious candidates are center Ronny Turiaf, swingman Kelenna Azubuike and forward Brandon Wright.

Of course, Golden State would have to work out a deal with Lee for a sign-and-trade to happen, even if the Knicks like the Warriors’ offer better. One source said the Warriors will not offer a maximum contract, but the Warriors could go as high as $13 million in the first year of a six-year contract. With Chicago signing Carlos Boozer, that is one less team the Warriors have to worry about. However, New Jersey can still outbid the Warriors. Plus, Lee could, in the end, prefer to land elsewhere.

Warriors’ management, I’m told, is excited at the prospect of adding Lee to Ellis, Stephen Curry and center Andris Biedrins. That would give them four positions set and address their rebounding disparity.

Yeah...Who needs James.

On a serious note- Randolph comes in at under $2 M this year. Can we fit him in, pick up a decent PG, and sign some filler?

Could we also squeeze a draft pick out of them?

Just read the above post- it would seem that we can't do LeBron and Randolph.

we can't do a sign and trade with the warriors if we sign a max free agent.

the warriors are over the cap, so they'd have to send back matching salaries, eating our cap room.

this is a great option if we don't get you know who though.

i would love AR.

This is one of those rare trades that's great for both sides... at Lee's figure, I'd rather spread the love around. I agree that Randolph would flourish here. You can deal with his growing pains and inconsistency when he'll play next to Amar'e

DLee could just choose them outright. He's unrestricted, he does not have to work with us on a sign and trade.

exactly. he could be a two-way beast.

i'd love it if we could somehow get anthony morrow in that deal as well, but i don't think a double sign and trade is possible. anyone know the answer to that? morrow is a restricted free agent.

Who else might we take (want). Nyets have no cap issue, so we would not have to worry about taking matching salaries, but what do they have who compares to Randolph. Don't think they would want to give up Favors.
