Denver trades: Tariq Abdul-Wahad $5,062,500 to New York (BYC Value $3,796,875)
Denver trades: Calbert Cheaney $2,400,000 to New York
Denver trades: Antonio McDyess $11,700,000 to New York
TOTAL: $19,162,500

New York trades: Othella Harrington $2,475,000 to Denver
New York trades: Latrell Sprewell $11,250,000 to Denver
New York trades: Kurt Thomas $4,413,375 to Denver
TOTAL: $18,138,375

TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Denver and New York being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Denver and New York had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Trade on of the point guards for some front court depth and we have a lineup of:

C Camby
PF McDyess
SF Weatherspoon/Player Acquired
SG Houston/Postell
PG Eisley/Ward

Plus, with McDyess out until February, we would also get a Lottery Pick.

A great way to rebuild quickly and contend next year in the East.

I don't know about that one though. Let's reconsider rebuilding untill we get a competent GM. Would like to retain Othella though, he's still developing so he should stay in a possible rebuild.
KT+Spree for Dice+Wahad works as well but Wahad is pretty lousy.

Let's wait untill dec 15 th to get the "Dice" rolling.

As we learned with luc longley and glen rice - never accept injured players in trades. just don't do it.

I agree Dice might become "iffy" but how else can you get an allstar frnachise player pried away from the nuggets? Rice and Luc passed their physicals to begin with. I believe Luc sustained his injury after he became a knick at the olympics so.. KT worked out didn't he? He had some major injuries but he's going strong now.

I think we should only do this trade if Spree literally asks for a trade. I'd rather wait and see who we can get for Houston.

on the rebuilding front lets not be to hasty. i feel we have a decent compliment of veteran players and young guys to make subtle moves without recreating our teams present identity. For example lets make the effort to move kurt, ward and jackson and bring in younger guys. Which ever point guard we keep should compliment nicely with Eisley. I also see alot of talent amd explosiveness in Lovar so i would hate to part ways with him. When ever he gets to play Van Gundy always keep the reigns on him so he never really gets to showcase his talents only in flashes.( I thought that was what the summer league and pre season was for). Othella definitely should be given a very serious look for the future for right now he could learn a few things from the vet Weatherspoon.(agressiveness on the boards). Honestly there is a part of me that would like to see Spree get back to the two but i would like to see he and Allan make a serious effort to coexist and thrive together offensively like "sorry to say" Mike and Scotty". Spree needs to pull Allan aside and help him with his slashing game cause i know he is more capable, and likewise Allan could assist Spree with his spot up jumper and fade away. I really dont see the luv or chemistry between our two so called superstars. It all starts from there with our team leaders when they show each other luv the rest of the guys are gonna appreciate and buy in to the team concept a whole lot better.

Let me know what u think about that?

It is very rare that one can acquire a bonafide big man superstar like McDyess. This leaves us with a very well balanced team.

The issue of rebuilding is this: Would you rather be a 6 to 8 seed with little hope for improvement or throw away a year to get to be a top 3 seed for years!

I had forgotten about Anderson.

Add a potential lottery pick and I would gladly accept the 1-year rebuilding.

THIS TRADE HAS NO REBUILDING PERIOD. HE WILL BE BACK IN A MONTH. DENVER WOULD NEVER EXCEPT THIS.

who knows - there's no guarantee that he'd return 100%, so if they could get allan houston AND KT +one for an injured player, plus give us their garbage of abdul-wahad, they just might do it. they'd have a legit shooter to complement their solid pg - van XL, a solid PF in KT, the center spot taken care of with scott williams and lafrentz and posey as a solid 3.

We'd let spree slide back to the 2, hope that Dice gets better and gives us size and scoring at the 4, Camby at the 5, Shandon + Spoon at the 3, and PG by committee. I think Allan Houston and KT for Dice is a good deal on denver's side. on the NYK side, i'd say as a RULE: NEVER ACCEPT OR DRAFT INJURED PLAYERS

LOREN WOODS, can you hear me out there?

Well, we already know that Layden has broken that rule, re Glen Rice (he was hurt when we got him, right?). He would probably risk it for Antonio if the offer came up.

It's a risky gamble, but hey, I'd do it too.
