I think its not that Lebron would be coming to just play with Amare. Gallo has to figure to be a big part of the equation. ITs not where teams and players have been but where they are going. The down knicks are not in it for the past but who they CAN be.
Gallo has not shown to be a big time player but his youth, skill set, and curve in the second half of the season has shown he could be a huge 3rd or 4th option. Also his handle and ability to drive will be very important as he might be the key in a second unit.
AMare in the Paint, Gallo on the parimeter and Lebron everywhere else his huge.
TD does not have to be a playmaker either, just bring the ball up and lock down who your guarding. Score 12 pts and we golden.
The Rooter is valuable.
Also the Roster with DLee could net you Carmelo. Denver would be crazy not to do this if presented.
Man I agree totally and I've been saying the same thing all week -- You're right on the money here Nal --- LeDrama's obviously the 1st choice and if he comes to join Amar'e WITH Gallo, Chandler, TD & Walker it's a homerun. Not having to give up any assets to get LeBron James = grandslam homerun...I'm with you there..If we indeed lose out on LeDrama however, immediately and I mean IMMEDIATELY call up Denver and offer them a resigned David Lee AND Danilo Gallinari for Melo. If they say no, F 'em, then maybe we get him for nada next summer
but it's by far the best plan B out there right now and something the Nuggets may seriously consider (there's no trade scenario out there I'd rather utilize David Lee in than as part of a deal for Melo --- I'd almost rather let Lee walk than bring back Al Jefferson or Monta Ellis
...Look that package probably doesn't equal Melo in total value but it's a substantial package to offer them...A resigned all-star 20/10 PF in his prime (a guy that slides right in and takes over for the past-his-prime K-Mart who's expiring, leaving Nene/Birdman to man the middle) and a very young 6'11" hybrid forward in the Hedo Turkoglu mold with obvious potential -- with their solid backcourt depth, that would still be a solid team...Offer it up and let them turn that down...I suspect we never called up to make that exact offer (we probably haven't called up & offered anything for Melo at this point in fact), which is why all we're hearing now is that Denver is content to not trade Melo and wait it out, all season perhaps, to see if he signs that extention...I guess you gotta wait on LeDrama here and see what he does first ---- personally, I would've called Denver at some point and offered that package already just to gauge the reaction....Maybe the reason they're now saying they're not trading him is because they haven't gotten a substantial offer -- remember, what was it a couple of weeks ago -- a report surfaced that Denver would be open to trading him rather than losing him for nothing next year)....Lee/Gallo may not equal Melo but it's a substaintial offer..Hardly an embarrassing offer on the Knicks end I think -- you could have some good dialogue with them with an offer like that. It could lead to something..Offer it up and let the Nuggets chew on that for awhile..
