then won't most Knick fans- the true ones, hate him and not ever adopt the Nets, even if/when they move to Brooklyn?

I know I'm thinking about this, and if Lebron spurns the Knicks for the Nets, I will forever root against him personally and the nets as well, for the rest of my dying days.

There might be some front running fans that flip, but what does everyone else think?

Lebron on the Nets is beatable. Im concerned about Wade and Bosh joining him on the Nets. The only reason I can see this happening is so these guys could SECURE their legacy by winning multiple CONSECUTIVE championships. Think Kobe and Shaq on steroids.

Glanced at the Nets cap situation and every single player they have is movable.

There will be bandwagoners galore if that happens.

Expect to see a sudden influx of Nets fans.

i never hated the nets growing up on long island..watching laverne (RIP) tart, rick barry, and dr. j sure created alot of excitement and fun basketball..i bet spike lee would have front row seats in brooklyn and msg

If Lebron signs with the Nets I will hate them more than ever. I have hated them since Derrick Coleman and Kenny Anderson. When they made their back to back finals runs I still hated them and didn't jump on their band wagon like alot of Knicks fans I knew.

If this happens, I will be happy for the City of Newark, and I look forward to watching him in a couple of games there, as I planned to watch some there anyway.

However, I will remain a Knicks fan.

that is the worst scenario, knowing lebron is so close yet so far. i wont be able to handle that. i can handle just about anything else, well unless somehow he is a celtic...

If LeBron should sign with the Nets, there will be some weak Knick fans who will adopt the Nets - just like some adapted the Bulls when Jordan was playing. Front runners bother me. But it's always good to loose weak people.

I dont see him going to a 12 win team either, especially if bosh is in miami. But, they do have Lopez who will be a perenial all star, a great talent in favors, and another good player in harris. Still, NY easily has the best spot up shooters to spread the floor and a 5 time all star in Amare plus money for next year. I think NY has a good edge over NJ as long as NJ doesn't land bosh.

I dropped Miami and NJ out of the race a while ago. I think the Bulls also only get an edge if they get Bosh, otherwise it is Cleveland or the Knicks.

I read LeBron could sign a 2 or possibly 3 year deal with Cleveland but really what is the point of that if theymake no moves?

He wants to play in Brooklyn. That would be the only reason to sign a 2 yr deal.

I always follow the Nets and I find that I hate some of their players (i.e. Jefferson, Martin, Coleman, Morris) when they are competitive. I think Thorn has done an amazing job there and is the best GM in the league. I don't know if I would hate James but I would not like the team. Aside from his pregame warmups James is a relatively humble winner.
