The Los Angeles Clippers and Vinny Del Negro have reached an agreement in principle to become the team's next head coach.

Del Negro was head coach of the Chicago Bulls for the 08-09 and 09-10 seasons, compiling a 41-41 record each season.

Del Negro's job was in almost constant jeopardy while with the Bulls, but his players expressed support for him before his dismissal.

I was a good move by both parties. Del Negro is a decent coach and he is going to a team with solid talent.

Good coaches get fired and learn from it.

Best is to hire a coach with upside than a tired retread.

If Dick Motta was still around, IM sure he'd be a clipper. Again.
