LeBron James will announce his free agency decision on ESPN at 9:00 PM EST on Thursday, according to Chris Broussard.

RealGM Note: James had meetings with the Nets, Knicks, Clippers, Heat, Cavaliers and Bulls last week.

James was reportedly attempting to recruit Chris Bosh to Cleveland this week, but his fellow free agent prefers to end up in Chicago, New Jersey or Miami.

Dwyane Wade is the other big free agent who has yet to announce his intentions.

James starred in a television commercial several months ago alluding to a 2010 press conference, where he announced he was going to play for the Cleveland Browns.

With multiple other high profile stars also in free agency, one of the more suspenseful aspects of the build-up to his Thursday announcement will be whether or not it will leak beforehand.

James joined Twitter on Tuesday and there has also been activity on his official web site, leading some to speculate that his decision would first be released via his own social media.

This guy is an ass clown. I'm surprised he didn't demand to speak from the West Wing of the WH and that all the networks give him Presidential minutes in PT.

Moron Chris Broussard JUST said on ESPN: "Don't be surprised to see it be the Knicks." Such a douche.

Happen to be watching ESPN just now as Broussard announced this. When he was informing the viewers what teams were in the hunt, he kind of stressed the Knicks more than he did any other team. DOn't think we can make anything of it, but what the hell. Dream on brothers.

As crappy as Broussard is he's been both a Cavs and Knicks beat writer in his career, so you'd hope he's plugged into the right people on this story.

Due to the internet and other avenues of news exposure, its probably safe to say this will be bigger than the Ewing draft lottery.

I'm sure I'm reading far too much into this, but I can't help but get excited about this. It's incredibly arrogant, but if he's setting a time slot on national TV to formally announce his decision, I would think it's a bigger decision than "I'm staying with the same team I've been for the past seven years."

Starting to dislike the guy, but I'll forgive all when he's in the orange and blue.

Is dude getting Seacrest to host? And will it be the Knicks? Will it be the Cavs? The Portland Trailblazers....you're not getting Lebron. LA Clippers? Lebron will say yes.......or no after the break!

It's gonna be in Akron and I swear if he says I'm staying in Cleavland and people start cheering I'm gonna throw my TV out the damn window. This is unbelievable a tv special? I don't care if the proceeds go to charity Lebron or whatever team he goes to could make a donation this is unnecessary
No layups!

yeah i know. the distinct impression i got from Broussard was more like the rolling of the eyes; coy, smirk smile; "I can't believe I am gonna have to announce this..."
